I remember it existed
It was produced by Amblin Entertainment. The show had great visuals for its time. A healthy blend of practical effects and cgi. Modern day shows no longer have this level of production quality.
It stars Clancy Brown (not pictured), and although it has a racially diverse cast, it feels natural. Nothing feels shoehorned for diversity quotas.
There was a lot of love put in to the worldbuilding of Earth 2. It's not like a modern day show where every computer screen has a still-image of gibberish - screens have detailed information and allude to the deeper lore of the series.
Pictured: Clancy Brown
It also has that boy from Jurassic Park. His character is annoying at times, but I guess that's how some kids are.
We get it nigga, you like Earth 2.
The CGI isn't mindblowing, which makes the show feel authentic for a sci-fi series. The screens, monitors, and h.u.d.'s feel realistic and practical, as if you're actually looking at real technology in its early stages.
Why is it called Earth 2, what went wrong with Earth 1?
I used to jump on the internet to nitpick the scientific inaccuracies of Earth 2.
We fuckered it up. Nuclear warming, global war, the greenberg effect, take your pick.
Pictured: Not Clancy Brown
There are "aliens" in the show, but it's their planet and so the humans of the series are the actual aliens. The alien effects are endearing - an alien appearing early in the series is an animatronic puppet. It's obvious that it's a marionette as it clumsily walks across the screen, but it felt nostalgic instead of hokey.
your going a tad hard with the shilling m8, maybe post a trailer or something
great album
this. don't think i ever really watched it though.
>what went wrong with Earth 1
>"Only a small number of humans remain on the Earth's surface as the Earth had become mostly uninhabitable."
There were three novels, one of which was a novelization of the first two hour-long episodes. I plan on reading them once I finish the series. There's a tremendous amount of lore in the show - brief references to technology, events, political staging, leisure activities, etc. Some of these references come in to play or are expounded upon later.
The show isn't officially streaming anywhere yet. It's currently only available as a dvd box set. Here's a magnet link to a 12gb torrent: magnet:?xt=urn:btih:a25d369867c912ed51384e6a7af6d258d1bf4f37&dn=Earth+2+%281994%29+Complete+Series+%2B+Extras+%5BDVDrip-AAC%5D&tr=udp%3A%2F%2Ftracker.openbittorrent.com%3A80&tr=udp%3A%2F%2Ftracker.publicbt.com%3A80&tr=udp%3A%2F%2Ftracker.ccc.de%3A80
Episode 4 has no audio, but a mirror with sound is available on dailymotion
Christ, are you making a pitch for a Netflix reboot?
Rebecca Gayheart was beautiful in this.
I'm not shilling in the sense that I'm getting compensated for it. I was 9 when this show came out and I recall watching only a few episodes. I recently remembered it and I was excited to find the torrent. The show holds up in spite of its age. It's a shame that this show was dropped as soon as it was. I wish the show would be remade, but on the other hand I wish it wouldn't, because in today's "woke" climate the remake would be dogshit with every character being a black gay female muslim, except the villain who is a white straight male.
i remember some weird time travel of bad future shit
also the one boy gets to join alien whackamole people
when is Earth 3 Released?
I remember watching this show. It was good at the time.
no I'm just feeling nostalgic. I made the thread to see who else remembers it, and to suggest it to anyone who might be looking for a show to watch.

I am into it. I can't even remember the last time I enjoyed watching a show prior to watching Earth 2.

did you ever watch vr.5
I recall each episode got worse than the last. And the stupid sentient species being a Native American metaphor.
I have not, but it looks fun. I'll watch it after I'm done with Earth 2.
Ask a kid I was scared of the aliens and the sound they’re make
>shilling a literal who show from the mid-90's
