I've been watching movies this whole week. I notice that movies that is less than 1.5gb have stuttering and pixel quality issues. I'm not an expert on video stuff, but I think it's compression; also my player, VLC, running background processes, and cpu/gpu/playing from hdd instead of ssd/ram(i have 16gb) could also have a part in this.
Does Yas Forums have a crash course video on this, so I that I know how to play/download videos without issues?
anything YIFY is going to have flawless video\audio quality. VLC is easily the best player, so stick with that. You are spot on about the codecs though - try to stick with verified uploaders (they usually know their stuff) and avoid the no-name ones. YIFY rips can be as low as 500mb, but have had multiple pass encodings so the quality is better than most 4k 40gb rips
Do people really watch movies on their pc? These are the people who post on /film/????
David James
I watch on my iPhone, actually AND post on /film/
Ayden Robinson
Same but I watch them on my Moto G

It depends what movie you're watching. Honestly most torrents are VHS quality but what do you expect for paying literally nothing.
Samuel Howard
>not watching them on your Internet enabled microwave were you have easy access to snacks all the time I pity you
Lincoln Martinez
Patrician choice, right there
Logan Allen
Don't download low bitrate movies.

Here's some basic protips m8. Anything HD below 4 gigs for a 2 hour movie is shit quality. 10 gigs is okay. You often have to make do with shit though, expect many 650 meg avi files in your future.
VLC is only good for playing files that were encoded by absolute twats that actual good players struggle to play. That doesn't happen much these days. It's a last resort player. In any other situation, it's pretty shite. I suggest you use something MPlayer based, mpv is the go these days.
Justin Howard
So theres not much of a difference between vlc and mpv?
Nicholas Ortiz
There's a pretty massive difference, or are you simply implying that mpv is also a last resort?
Blake Mitchell
>Anything HD below 4 gigs for a 2 hour movie is shit quality. If it's HEVC it looks just fine.
