The worst Romeo and Juliet film in the history of Romeo and Juliet films. Seriously what were they thinking casting Leonardo DiCaprio as the most romantic lead in British drama? And some monkey-faced girl as the “beautiful” Juliet. Last time I checked the original script didn’t have guns or cars. Or Mercutio singing in drag.
Nothing Baz Luhrmann could do could ever make up for this atrocity,
I thought it was an ok comedy very light hearted and silly just like shakes spears plays. Im glad they didn't take the serous approach.
Hudson Powell
Nah, Titanic is the worst Romeo and Juliet film followed closely by Underworld and Avatar.
Pocahontas was great, though.
Nathan Hill
Interesting take on the R&J play, not the best, not the worse.
Awesome soundtrack.
Jonathan Stewart
Um excuse me but Romeo and Juliet is a tragedy not a drama.
Connor Morales
It was literally Di Caprio's only good performance. And Luhrmann's only good film. It was an example of how far you could push Shakespeare and still make it work. The 1990s was unironically a golden age for Shakespeare in the cinema. Watch pic related immediately.
Implying this shit wasn't the most based book OR play adaptation of all time.
Daniel Scott
She looked like the average teenage girl movie-goer and Leo DiCaprio was every average teenage girl’s wet dream
Isaiah Morgan
This is by far the BEST R&J adaptation.
T.V. is full of fucking plebs.
Jonathan Myers
Underworld is excellent tho
Brandon Walker
You guys now the old one had underage tits in it right?
Jackson Cook
Yea, no. this was a good movie
Gavin Gonzalez
She is way prettier than that ugly spiderman bitch. Seriously, how can anyone liket that spiderman bitch.
What an ugly little monkey. A baby stewie shaped head. A neck from a giraffe. And no lady curves at all. Skin the color of a bad bowel movement.
Only sick fucks could like her.
Dominic Adams
you bite your thumb at me sir?
Elijah Williams
This movie is great. Almost everything is conveyed visually, because the director knows the dialogue would be hard to follow for 90s kids seeing at the cinema.

>Last time I checked the original script didn’t have guns or cars. Or Mercutio singing in drag.
It's an example of something being adapted in a creative and consistent way with an actual premise to the changes other than some anti-White ideology. Part of the premise is that it's set in Venice Beach or whatever. That's the entire vision behind the entire film. All the changes stem from this initial starting point. It's nothing like "adapting" Dune and changing random shit for inane reasons.
Brody Martin
This adaptation was such much fun, fucking plebs can't recognize true kino
This. R&J is tired, ubiquitous shit. This was weird and stupid sometimes, but it was entertaining as hell.
Ayden Johnson
everything about this poster is infuriating I don't even know why Im so mad
Henry Bell
The 1968 movie is good
Thomas Adams
You should don't talk about Romeo & Juliet if you haven't even read it.
Read it carefully... everybody says that it's the "Tragedy of the impossible love", and that's the measure to measure the adaptations. Well, Romeo & Juliet is the tragedy of an hysterical girl and a depressed boy.
Oliver Walker
kino guns
And fucking plebs, this movie was pretty okay and the 90s vibe is comfy as fuck, well at least for me.
Jonathan Ross
shakespeare is an overrated literal faggot
Jason Robinson
Romeo + Juliet isn't a great adaptation, that's true, but if you could only describe Juliet as "beautiful", you're missing the point and you can't judge what is a good adaptation becuase you don't even know the original source at its deepest. Juliet has a scar which tell us about his character.
Romeo + Juliet is, at least, funny of how weird it is. Also, it has the original dialogues, so, that makes it, in my book, the best from the worst.
Chase Jones
I do bite my thumb sir.

Despite what Wikipedia says, Titanic is not based in Romeo & Juliet. Rose & Jack history is based on the popular idea that people have about Romeo & Juliet. That's pretty different.
