Didn't read but the rating is correct so there's no reason to refute it.
I know I rate things too highly. I need to go through and re-evaluate my ratings, but I can't be bothered

kek, was not expecting that. If anything I was expecting people to call me a pleb
Pleb
What should I watch to not be a pleb?
Go play with your Captain American toys, manchild.
it's too long of a review for what amounts to a garbage vapid "feel-good" film of no substance, unbelievable characters and contrivances and horrendous aesthetics
>thread for the intellectual discussion of arthouse and classic cinema.
aka how to be a pretentious faggot by posting films in other languages
What's pretentious about that?
It's not really a review of the film
This was pretty nice for just 76 minutes.
What's your favorite under 80 minutes film/s?
i didn't feel like reading all of it so tl;dr it or we can drop it
Here's a question /film/, should letterboxd have unfinished films? By that I mean, films that were never finished and will never be finished. It's really annoying when the only film you have left for a director is something that was never finished and will never be released.
bollywood good
Go play with your hotwheels while the big boys watch documentaries of the social breakdown of africa after the whites left
Sure thing fattie.
Trying to draw Naruse's hair in MS Paint is a nightmare
Entire Czechoslovak new wave
Slumdog Millionaire is meant to imitate Bollywood? That statement cannot be more misguided or factually incorrect. While the screenwriter and Boyle might have been "inspired" by indian cinema (or claimed to have been), nothing about Slumdog actually implies it's trying to ape indian cinema (or more specifically bollywood).
This person's complaints of Sulmdog have little to do with the film itself (he even flat out starts his "review" saying this), and it basically amounts to nothing more than, "hurr it's not like muh bollywood!! why does le west hate bollywood >:( curse you white british men!!"
Furthermore, I've read many such reviews that point at Slumdog and call it racist, which is uncalled for considering the reality of it all. Slumdog as a film isn't exaggerating anything, India is a real shithole. If you're going to make a somewhat serious film centered on slum life you're obviously not going to dress it up with goofy dances and cheesy musical numbers, That would silly.
The final dance number is straight out of Bollywood.
20 dollars? I will look into it, i will let you know later.
I've seen a few. I guess I should watch some more
Oh right. But I personally wouldn't consider that part of the film. It plays out during the fucking end credits for fuck's sake
But why don't westerners like Bollywood?
They jump too fast in between genres and they tend to be 3 hours long soap opera tier.
They're shit
t. watched some Bollywood films with a qt Indian
How about you draw something original for once you dumb fucking wojakposter
Two-Lane Blacktop is peak car kino.
>tfw I only recognize Chaplin and Eisenstein
Have I been filtered?
How can you not recognize von Stroheim?
Is there actually any other car kino out there?
Bullitt, Vanishing Point, unironically the 2 F&F flicks.
Vanishing Point and Smokey and the Bandit are pretty good. Not as good as Two-Lane Blacktop though
