I don't smoke often, but I do like to have a glass of bourbon with my kino. peak comfy.

smoking makes every 100x cheesier for me so I end up getting pissed and turning it off. it blows help me I normally like weed

I got this when I used to smoke up, I could see straight through all the acting and editing and writing and it made everything just super awkward. There are certain things in entertainment you need to take for granted in order to get the message, and weed can hinder that.

Jaws was my fav to watch while stoned.

I do it for 'turn your mind off' movies like comedies and rom-coms, if you are watching kino and really want to appreciate it to the fullest its probably better to be sober.

Depends on the movie or show. If it’s something kinda stupid and funny, I enjoy it a lot more. Star Trek is perfect for it. Anything that requires me to think is made worse because I can’t hold a train of thought for as long.

One time I got extremely high and watched the intro of good will hunting And I got so anxious That I had to shut it off for some reason

Weed is a boomer drug. I use stims (ritilan, etc) for action kinos, and heroin for slow burns like A24. I use crystal meth to watch female reboot comedies at 2x speed, they're still not funny but at least I get through them efficiently. But obvi for my Marvel stories, I gotta have COFFEE and BACON LOL amirite, milkshakers?

Don’t smoke weed anymore but I remember watching Toy Story stoned and it was amazing. Also used to watch stoner comedies regularly and they seemed magical while stoned.

I have since I was about 18.

Weed works well with arthouse films, that's the only time it "enhances" the experience. It can make things like time and spatial dilation a real experience.

Depends on the film, anything serious and dialogue-heavy I would want to be sober for, and stoner "comedies" are fucking terrible as a rule
Smoking grass I've found is a lot of fun with films mostly about the visuals, like Fantastic Planet or Enter the Void
Also I watched Inherent Vice stoned and the film fucking clicked for me, my favourite PTA flick by far
And I watched Filth stoned and it freaked me out really badly and I don't want to watch it again

Alcohol does that for me but weed made me sink into movies like nothing else. Shame I can’t smoke anymore due to the negative thoughts and anxiety it gives me now. But yeah they were good times.

I have a projector at home, so I'll usually smoke while I'm watching if I feel in the mood for it. If I am going to the theater then I almost always smoke before hand because I think it enhances the "theater experience" and helps me get lost in the world and movie.


See for me, if I am sober and watching a really good movie I usually start thinking too much about the craft, how different shots were done, analyzing lighting and framing choices, thinking if this particular detail was in the script or a directorial decision, etc.

I am usually able to turn off before getting too lost in thought, but those little moments can take me out of the movie overall if it happens too much.

When I get stoned I am able to be fully engrossed in the world being presented to me. I can still have those same craft thoughts, but it feels more seemless and I am more easily able to return to the story and notice the intricacies within opposed to thinking about the influencing forces from without.

I did the mistake watching some SAW movie at friends house and we all hit the bong, a scene comes up where they have to put their organs on a scale, I literally crawled to the bathroom almost passing out, never again.

back in college i would get stoned and watch a scanner darkly. ive probably seen it 5 or 6 times (all while high) and i have no idea what its about. the only scene i remember are the faces blurring

The biggest gigglefit I've ever had was watching Raising Arizona for the hundredth time while high.
