Why is the public so resistant to race and gender swaps in remakes?

Because:
1. It changes the context of the original work, even if black female Kynes follows the plot of the book to a t. having Kynes be a black female alters how the audience views the situation
2. In many cases the change is inappropriate to the situation. In Dune it's fine to have black characters but shit like black Lancelot makes no fucking sense. Finally
3. The change often feels like diversity pandering for no reason. It's simply irritating to have them clearly pandering to a demographic who doesn't really give a shit

It's gonna sound like a joke but it's because whites are the best and blacks are the worst from a scientific and spiritual perspective. So when they make the swap, they do a full pants on head for the biggest contrast possible and the biggest fuck you to everything we hold dear
