the 90s were a different time

With inflation and intrest calculated. Everyone in the middle class during the 80s was a millionaire

>nuclear safety technician
That's how.

I imagine the nuclear power plant pays pretty well

is this true

They sold grampas house when they put him in the home.

Think of all the random shit Homer has done over the years.
Fighting Drederick Tatum alone would have provided more than enough money for the rest of his life.

>subsidence in the basement

i dont think they lived on a planet with 800 billion people

The Federal Reserve has ruined America, along with Republican economic policy.

Why are there 2 living rooms next to each other

In some sense yes, especially when it comes to housing since real estate was cheaper at the time. Getting a 25 year mortgage was piss easy back then and people bought homes which would probably set you back a million today.

One is the “formal” living room for company, and the other is the “TV room” for kids

>house was bought in the early 90's so it was probably cheap as fuck
>sold grandpas house to cover the cost anyway
>works in a nuclear powerplant so good salary
>marge took care of all the housework and kids

What the fuck kind of phrase is “piss easy?” What the hell does that mean? Easy as pissing? Lots of people have trouble pissing. Or do you think it just seems like a cool phrase?

80s housing market combined with nuclear engineer salary

Yes as easy as pissing. Sorry for triggering you.

Seething boomer that can't pee detected

A lot of the later zombie seasons make a big deal of them being poor. I'm not sure why cause they never seemed too badly off in classic episodes and as another poster said, they've come by a lot of money. They probably took it from Malcolm in the Middle.

Image having this as a takeaway from the post.

>asbestos everywhere
>lead pipes
House must have been dirt cheap.

I know this phrase gets thrown out a lot here, but this comment is literally autism.

the 90s were a different time, even a shoe salesman could live a comfortable suburb life

>the autist in his natural habitat

>along with Republican economic policy
Pretty sure the perpetual expansion of welfare and the inflation used to finance it all is a bipartisan thing

Wow I really upset you guys huh? Seems like you’re pretty mad! Faggots!

thats 715.22 USD a week today, with a much lower cost of living, which is a decent amount

Federally yes, but if you look into state led by republicans you'll find that they usually have higher unemployment rate, less competition with the market place, worse pay for lower class work and fewer benefits and so on. These things are what drive people towards the welfare state.

Yes. Housing was incredibly cheap. You could buy an apartment within a year or two of getting a full time professional job, and within another 5 to 10 you could easily afford a large house like the Simpsons have, or like Al Bundy (even though he wasn't 'professional', retail jobs back then actually paid well enough that he would have eventually saved enough money to buy his house & own his cars).
Now loads of workers get shit by wage cage enthusiasts like Bezos and the GOP, anyone who wants to go to university that isn't already rich is facing up to 20 years of school debt, and you have to either pay thousands in medical insurance that won't cover the costs anyway, die, or eventually go bankrupt.

For what purpose

>Federally yes, but
And that's the beginning and end of it

To entertain guests and to watch TV.

One room to TV watching and another room for when guest come over and you just want to sit down and talk.
