Peacemaker...action packed indeed. The politics part is a little weaker than Jack Ryan series
Jack Ryan series felt tense because the terrorists or radicals felt tense.

the Sidney Pollack films... would they count? They're not really action films are they?

So I got some post 2000 stuff. I got Nicole Kidman from Peacemaker then I got The Interpreter. Politics not action.
There were some African stuff
Constant Gardener: political but not action.
Blood Diamond: action packed
Then there was an Page Eight. Again political but not enough action.

Then there were a bunch of British/London counter terrorism action flicks. I don't think they are worth checking.

That's really a good list.
From Devil I got IRA. Blown Away

The Assignment > The Jackal

Weird because the jackal got much bigger production value. But not that surprising since the jackal got too many actors in it they all had to look positive and cool

Koreans regularly make political thriller and action.
If you count movies with North Korean spy in...the list will just deviate from the target
