FireTV or Chromecast? whats better and why?
which one would you choose?

That’s boomer shit

Chromecast doesn't have a microphone so that one.

I have a firestick but never use it. none of the streaming sites work.

chromecast works with any of those pirate p2p apps
so that one

t. use chromecast to watch kinos

hdmi cable

Doesmt the Amazon Fire run Minecraft? Or maybe it's not the stick. Fuck, i dunno. Buy an nVidia Shield.

What is your use case? If you are mainly wanting to stream netflix and youtube and you don't have a smart tv then get Chromecast. You can also stream any tab of chrome to it, so that means any movie or tv show you stream can be put on your chromecast from your pc.

Never had a firestick, but I know you could hack old ones to aggregate free streaming sites so you can watch anything you want for free but not sure if you can still do that.

Chromecast

shield tv

What can stream my x265 10bit illegally downloaded rips?

4K I presume? When it comes to that, it doesn't so much matter what can stream it. It's more important that what you're playing it with can actually play it natively so your server doesn't have to transcode it on the fly because even transcoding Dolby Atmos audio can choke your streaming, especially if it's wifi.

Your best bet if the nVidia Shield or the Apple TV 4K. My PS4 Pro is a beast but it still wants to transcode all of my rips because of retarded lack of licensed audio support so i have to transcode audio and make a targeted copy just for the PS4 and reupload or else no wookie, it chokes on audio alone. It's maddening. Just get something that plays the common blu-ray remuxes natively and save yourself a headache. Trust me.

firestick 4k has no issues with that as long as you use plex

Nvidia Shield Pro here. It's so much faster than the FireTV devices I have (1st/2nd gen boxes and the first Fire Stick).

>my $200 bucks device is faster than a $35 toy
Fucking retard

$200 is nothing, stop being poor.

For me, I think investing my $1000+ Trumpbux into my kinostation is a sound investment. Should I get 4K tv now or wait till the newest HDMI standard becomes widely available? If I wait, should I get a streaming device like the Shield or wait for the PS5? Maybe I should just buy $1000 headphones....

Piratebay

Anything that runs plex

You missed the fucking point.

>all this bullshit when you can just connect your laptop to your TV with HDMI cable

Both are extremely low powered and shitty, get the latest model of one of those generic android boxes a raspberry pi or build your own htpc

Some of us are out of college

Just 1080p. I have Plex on my firestick but it has problems with 10bit so I have to lower the quality

I'm not poor so I bought a Nvidia Shield

Some of those are really good, but it's hit-and-miss. I looked into those and faggots where sperging out over minor revision numbers and firmware versions so you dont get some bogus unsupported chipset and I noped the fuck out. Not putting up with that bullshit just to save a few bucks.

HDMI cables through the walls going to the computer.

the 4ks right now are super cheap and it should be fine upgrading to a microled in a few years, but if you already have a nice pc setup then nice headphones will brobably give you more mileage.

the firetv boxes are 200+

>Just 1080p. I have Plex on my firestick but it has problems with 10bit so I have to lower the quality
What is actually streaming the video though? If it's 1080p that who fucking cares? Even if it's a wonky format you should just be able to transcode with no problem. It must be a particularly shitty machine that is serving your video.
