>wait, you mean you CAN'T make it higher resolution than what it was originally made in?
>what the fuck?
TPM was shot on 32mm.
AOTC and ROTS were shot in 2K, and the upscale actually looks better than this.
Still never going to be as good as if it were actually made in 4k to start with, upscaling can only do but so much & reveals most of the flaws in the effects & shit they count on the resolution limitations to cover to begin with when it was made.
What movie?
TPM has to be seen in 200p to be fully appreciated.
THAT BOY IS INSANELY CUTE
MEESA HATE NIGGERS
Nigga you watch star wars on VHS or laserdisc. any other way isnt how it was originally intended.
on a scale of 1 to 10 how based is jar jar?
Upscaling has come a long way, though, thanks to machine learning.
People have upscaled Star Trek Voyager DVD's to 1080p on their home PC's with seriously impressive results.
>tfw i had the extended OT TV versions on beta but my machine broke and they are rare/expensive as fuck now.
I have an original scan of The empire strikes Back and it looks amazing. too bad digital can't even come close.
Can they update the effects?
Mac & Me
can you upscale the script?
not relentlessly
Prequels > Original Trilogy
Episodes 2 and 3 need to be remastered with a combination of redoing the bluescreen composition and using machine learning to make them crisper.
what did lucas mean by that? only the vhs version still has it too
They only need to update the CGI textures. 80% of the movie is animated anyway. Upscale the rest with machine learning software, add some very fine grain to create the illusion of detail (this works wonders) and you got them looking better than even even Lucas himself imagined them.
That'll never happen, Disney don't even care about properly remastering their own films
>zoom zoom zoomie
This isn't real.
Indeed. Chances are some fan restoration project will and up looking better than the official blu-rays.
They could but it would cost a lot of money for something with little pay off.
what the fuck
AHHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAA
good god the bluray sucked the life out of the artwork. amazing
