The terror

The Terror is a kino show for anyone who hasn't watched it.
I'm rewatching it and it's still as good as I remember

Also its just one season long the second season is a different story altogether.

Any shows you have rewatched in these lockdowned times?

Haha ya I love the cgi bear

I heard they made a season 2 :^)

The cgi bear isnt even that bad. It doesn't get much screen time either theres more going on than just the bear.

And what about it? Its not related to season 1.

for me, it's Boats

It's also based on a true story, apart from one aspect of the movie.

wait theres 2 seasons?

2nd season is revisionist history. muh evil america plot

Tuunback could be real.

Season 1 of this was incredibly good.

Damn, so season 2 sucks? I'd actually forgotten about it and saw it listed on Hulu the other day. The plot sounded somewhat interesting and I was gonna give it a shot.

I loved s1 & never made it past the first ep of s2, it was just tonally way too different.

When talking about The Terror everyone should always specify the season
Season 1 is amazing
Season 2 is complete shitshow, shouldn't be called by the same name, not just because it's shit but because it has literally 0 connection to the first season and to the name itself

>giant bear bad!

Currently rewatching it. It's really so fucking good. God bless these british theatre actors, they're fantastic. I hope Hinds, Harris and Menzies get another shot at historical kino, really, could be anything, as long as it's a period piece.

I watched for 3 episodes. The characters and the acting is good, the atmosphere is top notch. Then they just skip the winter, there's spooky inuit shaman (zzzz), bear from Lost, and stupid gore dragging people through the air. Holy fuck this was disappointing and stupid and shit.

please continue, user, there's so much more to it. The bear doesn't do much in the rest of the episodes and there are some fantastic plotlines.

True. In rea life Hickey wasn't a cannibalistic sodomite

It’s great until half way in, then it falls apart when suddenly things conveniently keep happening.
>antagonist caught and about to be hanged
>say your last words
>oh no a surprise bear attack
Yeah no, fuck off

I would love menzies and Hinds in something historical like maybe Roman era?

>based on a true story
the only thing remotely true about this is that a bunch of men were stranded in the arctic. Everything else is fantasy shit

We don't know that for sure, there really was evidence of cannibalism (human bones with tool marks on them), it was really shocking when that was discovered by later expeditions. And homosexuality among sailors was fairly common.

That’s why they needed the asspull of Hickey actually not beingg Hickey at the end

where can i stream it?

Well, that's been clear since episode 2. He called Crozier a dumb mick while supposedly being one himself

It’s still retarded
>based on a true story

No, he said "the rest of us micks" which includes himself

That was retarded and ruined Hickey from me. I liked him in the beginning but then they pulled "He was always evil and a criminal" out of their asses. Never mind how Tozer and Des Voeux (who IRL was a likeable and competent man) were portrayed as assholes.

Which was extremely derogatory towards irishmen. Crozier suspected him right then and there.

No he didn't, which is why he then offered him a glass of whiskey
