Most kino of all the harry potter movies

>Most kino of all the harry potter movies
>Started the trend of having them in their non-wizard clothes
it hurts, why didn't they let chris columbus tackle the rest of the movies after the mexican guy or better yet, have him direct them.

Is this a scene from Y tu mama tambien?

those spics were fucking gay

honestly that's my biggest gripe with the later movies. the hogwarts clothing is peak comfiness, especially with the house scarves

You just posted a pic from the later movies

“Later” means the ones directed by David Yates.

>>Started the trend of having them in their non-wizard clothes
Literally the worst part of the later movies

I've been rewatching them and it's all downhill from Azkaban. This franchise only has 2 good movies.

Azkaban costume designs were god tier, Harry's jacket and Hermoine's jumper are great looks for both characters.

Later films took the concept of the kids wearing muggle clothes but didn't put as much effort into making sure it looked good. Harry in the red shirt and grey jumper from Order of the Phoenix is such a... "whatever" look for him.

Also Azkaban is god tier but Goblet of Fire is the best imo

what was this scene trying to convey?

But this is how they dressed when they weren't in school hours in the first movies

>13 year old boy having his time alone under his blanket
he clearly played with a limited edition Buzz Lightyear figure

Chamber of Secrets was the shit.

Yeah everybody dunks on it but I think it's a much better movie than the first. The mystery element was fun as is Lockhart.

>why didn't they let chris columbus tackle

Chris left because the studio and Jk rowling wanted to keep filming all films without break to avoid recasting the leads. Chris wanted to spent time with his children instead of living and breathing Harry Potter

I thought those brimless wizarding hats pupils wore on special occasions were /fa/ and they should’ve kept them

Shhh, you can't let this meme die out

Second is a better story, even as a book
First has a lot more “cozy” scenes which is a sort of its selling point and what it’s remembered for

Underrated opinion. Goblet of fire is not only competently made, it had a lot of the artistic integrity Rowling severely lacked from her "literature"

>trio have their sexual discovery
>ramp up the hamminess of a magical Hitler and have him put on a show to emphasize that without actually taking anything considered villainous from him alas not falling into postmodern bullshit
>had the scope (three mages tournament feels fucking huge and so did the shit like the quidditch world cup) set up in the first two movies that wasn't capitalized due to Columbus genre limitations
>meme machine

Freddie Stroma is relentlessly handsome.

spit roasting prime hermione

I seriously love them in plain clothes because it's paek 2000s aesthetic. Much better then pretending to take anyone older than 12 in wizard robes.

It makes the wizarding world feel like a small enclave that's trying to keep muggle influence out but they can't and its kino

They struck the perfect balance between a theatrical moustache twirler and a genuinely disturbing, menacing foe. That balance is reflected in just about every aspect of his design, from Fiennes' performance to the flowing cloak he wears

As a result they were able to pull off some really amazing, impactful scenes with the character that later iterations of Voldemort couldn't recapture imo

The moment right before the beam struggle is kino. "Don't you turn your back on me Harry Potter! I want you to look at me when I kill you! I want to see the light leave your eyes!" accompanied by a score that rivals John Williams' work on the first two films, great camera-work and Radcliffe's just-as-hammy but also just-as-engaging acting which complements Fiennes perfectly.

I think that entire graveyard sequence is my favourite in all the films. Perfect execution on all fronts, hits all the beats that were necessary for the evolution of the Harry Potter story with such precision and grace that it's difficult to not be let down by Order of the Phoenix when watching it immediately afterwards.

Absolutely based, you've both summed it up perfectly. I too love GoF and think it's severely underrated. I always defend it in HP threads. I just wish so much wasn't cut out or that we could have had a two-parter. But what is there, I completely love and it's brimming with good shit. Every scene is a great scene. There are no low points or ones I don't really like.

>griffindor is chads
>ravenclaw is smart girls
>hufflepuff is also chads
>slytherin is incels
Even in the wizarding world, this high school bullshit still exists

>ENGORGIO PENIS

GoF is great, I just hate the yule ball bullshit

Dullest franchise in movie history

the costumes and sets in the later movies really are shit

G - chads
R - Asians
H - stoners
S - kids with dysfunctional home lives

Why? It's arguably the best stuff in the movie depending on who you talk to

>That scene where Ron is walked back to the common room by Ginny after asking out Fleur
>"I couldn't help it... It just sorta slipped out..."
>"Actually, he sort of screamed at her. It was a bit frightening."

It's cute but I really like the trial stuff more. Though Ron asking Hermione out was pretty kekworthy
>Hermione, you're a girl
>Well spotted
