Was this supposed to make me sympathize with poor people?

Was this supposed to make me sympathize with poor people?

Theyre fucking evil parasites. Cant follow a single god damn rule.

No, you're supposed to sympathize with the children of people who have no concept of responsibility. Hailey is a fucking cunt, she's a terrible person who absolutely deserves to live as a destitute con artist prostitute because she blames everyone else for her problems and is a shit mother. You're supposed to feel empathy for Monee, who has no choice but to be attached to this useless whore because she fell out of her cavernous vagina.

What's up with Dafoe?

because that's what poor people are....parasites

it's just a god damn movie you fucking stupid american

That is always the worst part of my day, when I see fat slovenly landwhale women, usually with no ring, carting around their toddlers or kids, those poor little guys and gals have such a handicap, and no one will start a public discussion on it. Imagine the kids that are going to come out of those poor creatures, a few decades from now.

This. I'm no by means a commie, and I didn't see that message OP. Hailey was trash. The Mexican grandma was raising the kids her offscreen daughter was spitting out. Other unnamed characters were drug dealers and whores and whatnot, some were just poor people stuck momentarily in a bad situation (I.e. living in a hotel, being effectively homeless). Everyone was right where they should be. Great movie though. Shows how pozzed the academies are for ignoring kino like this in favor of sophomoric oscar bait like moonlight.

Am I supposed to believe you're any better, OP?

I saw homegirl there in a tv commercial or show or something. Guess she might have a career yet.

That's why I think the film is really powerful. I used to be a paramedic and I saw so many children living in just absolutely terrible conditions because their parents were horrible addicts and prostitutes and drunkards. This is a part of society that no one really wants to think about but it has a wide-reaching effect on all of us, especially these poor kids who did nothing wrong. The worst part is that their bad parenting is going to ruin these kids, and we see that with Monee, who you can see is already talking back to adults and using bad language and disrespecting authority.

If the academy had any value whatsoever Bria Vinaite would have won the Academy Award for Best Actress. She does an absolutely perfect job of playing a useless redneck cunt, and the absolute visceral hatred I felt for her was far more emotion than any other actor or actress has been able to make me feel in any other recent movie I've seen

I only sympathized with Willem Dafoe. The only normal responsible person in a 50 mile radius trying to impose some sanity on the chaos caused by roastie drug addict mothers.

Im dumb.

Can anyone explain the ending to me? Please

The Indian woman who owned the other hotel was also a responsible person and she was the only one willing to throw these animals out on the street

Huh, i didnt see it that way. Thanks for that man. Im glad the first post wasnt trash.

Um, based? Ya I thought she was great in that, even besides the fact she had little to no prior acting experience. Guess, although she is a woman, her skin's several shades too light for academy consideration in the 201_ era.

Eh I just looked and 2018 was the year it was up, and three billboards took a lot of the awards. Again, subpar, pozzed movie.

I think it's a couple of things. One being that Jancey knew this would likely be the last time she saw Monee and she wanted to show her that there is more to the world than this horrible existence she's in
I think there's also a lot to be said about how they live so close to Disneyworld and have never been inside and they just want to feel like normal people who are able to spend the day at Disneyworld instead of all the knock-off off-brand bullshit that makes up their reality

I fucking hated Three Billboards. I thought I would love it too but the writing is really fucking trash. No nuance, no subtleties, every cop is a horrible racist, the mother is a perfect woman who just wants justice, etc.
Sam Rockwell is the only worthwhile performance in the entire movie, fuck Frances McDormand

No wonder the US is the most affected country by the covid19. You have no humanity.

You have taste, my friend. I liked the soundtrack. I liked the underlying sense of wounds that just won't heal. And Sam Rockwell was great.

But the movie was overrated on the grounds of cinema alone. It was leftie propaganda. The white cops were all flawed and/ or overly racist, to prove a point we get made to us everyday on CNN/ ABC/ WAPO. And in stark contrast to the sagacious black cop that joins the film later. The constant trashy language all the characters used that was supposed to be funny&edgy was out of place for a movie about a mother dealing with the loss of her daughter that was raped, murdered, and set on fire (not exactly in that order). The random token blacks, handicaps, and other minorities randomly inserted into Smalltown U.S.A. to prove their points, all stuck out like sore thumbs. The overt feminism and 'men are bad' messages. I was disappointed in Yas Forums for shilling this movie. Showed the influx of eighteen year olds.

This. Poor people are saints and rich people are the Devil.

Pretty obvious, AmeriTARDS! You like that? I just came up with it.

I watched this movie last night and I liked it a lot. It wasn't their fault they had shitty parents

I like McDonogh, I really liked In Bruges like I think almost everyone does, and I really like his brother a lot, Calvary is a fantastic film.

But I think they both fundamentally do not know how to write realistic characters. They write compelling and interesting dialogue, but every film of theirs has little to no subtlety and the characters feel like caricatures from some lefty op-ed in the New York Times.

No she should be shot for immigrating to a white country and thinking she's hot shit

>humanity is denying the fact that the poor behave in a certain way that has certain outcomes that negatively affects their life outcomes

I thought the ending would have been better if they cut the disneyworld thing and just had her taken away while she was crying. It would have had more punch

what movie is this

The Georgia Program

The Philadelphia Plan

The Blair Witch Project

>I only sympathized with Willem Dafoe.
Willem Dafoe's character was a prince among men. If he were a real guy, I would anonymously send him a cheese basket.

It's Always Florida in Sunnydelphia
