Raiders > Doom > Skull > Crusade

Don't @ me.

It wasn't the worst, but it certainly wasn't the best one by far.

Its purpose was to show certain peoples and cultures as inferior, which permits them to be killed. Came in handy in Iraq etc.

How do you feel about German National Socialists?
Okay to exterminate?

and Skull was made to justify the killing of women and commies?

No. No one is "okay to exterminate". Any media that normalizes killing or shows it as fun (i.e. the sword guy in Doom) is dehumanizing.

Due credit given for evenness of moral stance.

Never saw Skull - but I'm not talking about justification, that will come later. I'm talking about normalization of murder of particular groups or types of people, as a first step. Indiana Jones, which could have been just a movie about a treasure hunter, is pretty insidious about this.

What about killing child slavers in self defense? Is that okay?

its on par with skull

Imo, no, Skull is by far the worst.
Ant scene, fridge nuke, and Shia monkey shit alone put it there.

It's funny how Yas Forums has such a deep culture of larping and baiting that it wraps around sometimes to produce stuff like this.

But Crusade is the best one?

The only thing I remember in Temple being on par with the terribleness of those scenes is the "my future wife gets freaked out by bugs" shit.

fridge nuke was fun
ant scene wasn't worse than other shit in the franchise
shia crap has no excuse tho

Crusade > Raiders > Doom > Skull

This is the patrician opinion.

Willie being scared and annoying in a dangerous situation is the most realistic thing this series has done. Her being some hyper competent equal to Indy would be way worse.

Damnit, I forgot
>crashing plane escape with a fucking life raft
>minecart escape sequence
I still think skull is overall the worst for a lot of reasons, but they're closer to par than I thought.

The fridge scene is from a Kingdom of the Crystal Skull retard...

There is ONE thing truly wrong with Temple:
It's a prequel, and thus there are no real stakes.
Willie is a screeching hysteric, but the movie treats her like shit.

Otherwise it's just as good as Last Crusade except, let's be real here, Mola Ram > Donovan.

whom are you quoting?

Sure, it's possible to come up with examples of situations where killing is permitted. But the Indy movies, specifically, aren't about that. They are adventure stories, and the killing is shown as simply something that is ok to do, any actual reasons for it are glossed over. That's why I call it insidious.

Unironically, kill yourself.

who gives a fuck dude its fiction. 90+% of consoomers of movies vidya or even books that involve killing wouldn't be able to kill if you gave them a gun and a living target

Thank you for this detailed & quality explanation of why, in your view, I was wrong.
Truly raising the bar for us all.

But short round and willie aren’t in any other Indiana Jones so there are stakes.

Short Round ended up in a wet market when Indy was low on cash.

Based, I've come to feel this way lately.
Everything seems so vulgar.

>who gives a fuck dude its fiction
That's where I'm not so sure. If movies portrayed violence with things like duels, one-on-one, deliberately fair fights among equals, then maybe US voters wouldn't be so easy to meme into foreign wars. They wouldn't be doing propaganda if it didn't work...

the opening is fun and it really picks up once indy wakes up

>duels, one-on-one, deliberately fair fights among equals
This is a shit point to be making about this series, desu, because every lopsided fight in it has Indy as the massive underdog.
