In hindsight, Lynch's Dune was kino and you can already tell that Villeneuve's will be inferior.

Jurgen "Wrecks your ships off Spitzbergen" Prochnow
Max "Fucks Satan's hacks" Von Sydow
Patrick "Still captain in a feminist galactic" Stewart
Kyle "literally Kwisatz Haderach" MacLachlan
Yup, will be tough to beat.
shouldn't stillsuits be white to reflect the heat
having black over the catch pockets means you'll be drinking boiling water
the internal monologues were superior to the awkward ham-fisted exposition we get in most movies
change my mind
Seems based on desert peoples dressing in black.
Though I think they dress in black because they wear loose-fitting clothing, and black stops the light penetrating the cloth, thus creating a bubble of relatively cooler air underneath the clothing, which wouldn't happen with white clothes.
I always loved 1984 Dune. The new one will be such a trash attempt, that even normies will love it now.
internal monologues were gay and jarring
dune is best left as a book because of all the thoughts and nuances in every action
being smart, non exploding sand people of the future, they do most shit at night.
i'm talking about the movie
Unironically they should be pink, it's the best camo color for desert during the day and night.
>In hindsight
pleb
Of course it will be inferior. Just look at the latest Blade Runner. Its obvious they're churning out remakes and sequels on a schedule to match the generational shift. This is the just the latest next bite at the apple.
Taureg people do it and so do saudi women
that's loose cloth, not a skintight suit that also carries water
>OLD = GOOD
Kill yourself, retard. Lynch's Dune was garbage and so will be the new one.
>*film company other than disney does literally anything*
>disney shills on Yas Forums: Here's why it's objectively terrible and you're wrong if you disagree
Jesus christ i know this board hates every new big movie that comes out, but the extent you faggots will go to convince yourselves that you're right, even by retroactively decide you like a shitty movie from the 80's that everyone knows is terrible, is seriously astounding.
The third part is very rushed and the final battle effects were bad even for its time, otherwise it’s quite good
I don't remember the whole "sonic scream weapons" thing anywhere in the books.
it was always kino you pleb
ummm sweetie sonic weapons are more KINO, why yes I saw this movie as a kid that's why it has more SOUL, cope seethe and dilate more discord tranny
10/10 buzzword shoehorning, would (You) again.
why the hell is this guy the lead in all of his movies
I love David Lynch and I love Dune but this was a horrible adaptation
>my name is a killing word
in the books this is a heartfelt meaningful moment. Paul/Muad'dib realizes he will forever be associated with death and destruction as his name is shouted by attacking Fremen. He has completely lost his innocence. There's lot to unravel here as Paul completes his transformation into Muad'dib and it is a critical part of Herbert's analysis of the danger in creating a "superhero" or "messiah" which the entire series is about.
In Lynch's adaptation Paul says this when a Fremen shouts his name and it causes a laser beam to shoot out.
I think Dune is just un-adaptable
The first 2 could easily be adapted faithfully & well, they'd just bomb hard as fuck because they sailed right over everyone's heads.
This. Lynch knocked the imagery and atmosphere out of the park. The Giedi Prime scene is one of the great images of cyberpunk and of film horror.
Villeneuve's Paul Atreides doesn't even have Lynch's Chad 80's hair
A good scriptwriter should be able to find a good compromise.
Dune is a very interesting story, but difficult to translate it to a popular film by today's standards.
It's not. You just have to not make stupid decisions, like "weirding modules" or making the movie under two hours long. The mini series got the nuts and bolts of the story right. The lynch movie had the sense of style. Just combine the two.
Lynch likes weird shit.
Vilneuve likes everything to be grounded and real.
Timothee Chalamet is relentlessly handsome.
