To be fair, most of Jodorowsky's actual ideas for the movie sound insane and borderline impossible (like making it ten hours long, and expecting people to sit through it). The real value of the project was in all of the various artists he assembled, and the visions they started to put together, but half of those people are dead now, or in the case of Pink Floyd not really together anymore.
They should definitely hire Chris Foss though.

Honestly this would have been like an insanely stretched-out version of Captain EO with 99% of the effort put into visual style, and barely anything left of Herbert's intentions and lore.
Jodorowsky is a good director, don't get me wrong, but he really would have been the wrong director for a story-heavy science-fiction story.
