Ends how you'd expect it to end. They defeat Naraku and the true villian of the series, the Shikon Jewel. Because of the jewel Kagame and Inuyasha are separated for 3 years. After graduating high school the well allows Kagome to travel back to the feudal era. Knowing she want be able to return to the present, Kagome has a tearful fair well with her mom and reunites with Inuyasha. During those 3 years Sango and Miroku marry and have 3 kids. Before the series ends Sesshomaru gets his left arm back and a new sword created from his own power that's actual stronger than Tessaiga.

I question that. There is an early story in the comic in which Ataru is very sweet and is the only one that wants to protect a caterpillat that many want to kill because deemed too voracious. The Xeno-chick helps him.
