Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2

I heard it captured the originals in cinematography style and comedic timing. True?

great picks, seems like most science-fiction horror films always turn out to be some of the best horror films

the exorcist,the thing

Not really, no. It isn't terrible but it is a far, far cry from the original.

Shining, Jacob's Ladder and Perfect Blue

I’d agree but the massive influx of SyFy monster movies kinda weakens that

Do you count Perfect Blue as a horror movie? I always counted it as a thriller, more of a Hitchcock style movie than straight horror. Though I guess Psycho is basically the grand-daddy of the slasher so I suppose PB can count.

Phantasm II. People can judge me all they want, but it establishes more character development and their styles between Mike, Reggie, and The Tall Man.

Yes

In the Mouth of Madness. Everything about it is just so fucking perfect. Every line and every character.
That fucking bicycle kid gave me nightmares as a child.

What do you have against Lake Placid vs Anaconda?

I don't know, when I watched it I was high and watching with friends, but it felt like such a generic modern horror film to me. I wasn't expecting much, but I was still disappointed.

Do you read Sutter Cane?

there's so many remakes of really classic horror films and alot of the time, and they just make a generic horror movie out of it that isn't very good, and alot of people who don't even know about the original are probably going to watch these shite remakes/reboots instead of watching the original films they're based on that are actually really good, it fucking sucks

US remake of The Ring

Why what

Wounds. Saw this for the first time a month ago and i've already seen it five times and i almost never rewatch movies.

ALL HAIL THE NEW FLESH

It's far more serious but also very gory and suspenseful and the climax is incredible.

Event Horizon. Director's Cut NEVER EVER

Why do you like the US remake of The Ring more than the original?

Holy fuck. Never seen this, is it good?

Based and redpilled

get the fuck outta here

Nice Taste. I'd say mine are The Evil Dead The Thing and Texas Chainsaw massacre.

Because it improved on the original in every way. The pacing, the somber aesthetic, even the colour filter gives a sense of creeping dread, like the characters are living on borrowed time and waiting to die. Only weebs actually think the original is better.

It's definitely a worthy reboot, different enough to be interesting, but also respectful enough to not shit all over the original.
