Honestly not the worst change, and if it's the only change then I'm pretty happy. Kynes is a minor character in the book compared to Paul, Jessica, or even Stilgar so it's not too bad. They could have fucked up a major character instead. Although I always imagined kynes as a blond haired white guy "going native" among the Arab looking fremen and was looking forward to that.
