Well, either way it's also kind of fucked up that the only reason Anakin's body got all destroyed and he had to wear the Vader suit, was because Obi-Wan just stood there and watched him burn. He already took his lightsaber and cut off his legs, he could have pulled him away from the lava a bit, but he just left him.

Obi-Wan would also move to keep the high ground advantage. Yes Anakin could have tried something else but he was enraged and thought the jump attack would work.

He successfully pulls off the same trick earlier in the battle, but fails this one.
When they're on the floating platforms over the lava, he jumps over Obi-Wan, who attempts to swipe at him, but can't quite reach.
Anakin is attempting the same move in this scene, but as Obi-Wan says, it's over because Obi-Wan has the high ground. He's slightly higher up compared to Anakin than he was last time Anakin jumped over him, so he can reach with his lightsaber this time.
Anakin overestimates his abilities and thinks he can clear this jump too - he's trying to do what Obi-Wan did to Darth Maul back in Episode I. So he tells Obi-Wan that he underestimates his power, attempts the move he did before, but then gets his limbs cut off because he got cocky.
