I honestly think season 3 is the one the best and my personal favorite thing ive ever watched and it was everything i wanted and hoped for in a new season of twin peaks. It could have been so terrible or not happen at all. The fact that Lynch basically came out of retirement and made it like it was a swan song to his entire career is just so based

I also think just about every performance is incredible, even actors i dont care for like Michael Cera

Lynch does this magical thing with season 3 where even the characters who only appear in the whole 18 hours for a few minutes are incredibly memorable.

But this was the point, the whole show builds towards a more insidious indescribable evil that can barely be shown aka JUDY

for me it's because I had almost no hope on a 25 years revival. It could have been the cheapest fanservice ever but Lynch delivered like the master he is.

If they tried to do the same formula 25 years later it would have been garbage like all those reunion shows that constantly pop up and they all are forgettable and gimmicky. The only one that pulled it off was Seinfeld because they did it in the reality of Curb playing themselves.

Twin Peaks avoided the dreaded reunion show by making a new season that was about the very fact that you cant go back and Lynch didnt compromise in his vision by selling out and giving the people what they thought they wanted.
Also what the fuck are you talking about season 3 is nothing like FWWM? Watch that movie again. Its the exact same style., especially the missing pieces stuff

I wanted it to be different with new ideas because there was no way to redo a show from 1990

because thats exactly why its so good

we don't WANT the same thing regurgitated. To just safely retread the beats of earlier TP would have been the most derivative and boring thing possible, which in ityself is not very TP at all.

You can't just resume a show 25 years later and pretend the world hasn't radically changed - the show also changed with it. I think the return highlights a key distinction between styles of fan between reddit and Yas Forums actually - Yas Forums on the whole appreicated the differences, whereas reddit desperately wanted le coffe and pie cooper memes

If you think about it, you're basically applying modern capeshit tier standards to actual art, which is why you're so confused. In genuine kino it's not considered good to redo the same easy proven formula endless times so that skinnyfat nerds clap and holler on reddit like they didn't for the return.

Cooper is reentering the phyiscal world through electricity. The imagery was creative and, like most of the lodge imagery, served to help create the dreamlike atmosphere. I don't really get what you're mad about.
