honestly I owned a lot of these books as a kid and the visual dictionaries were filled with this sort of thing.
The only one worth owning is pic related before all the nu-wars shit.
by being based lucas
i like the page about count dooku's immobilising gaze.
Why did we buy and covet these books so greatly? Was it autism?
I cant fucking stand star wars at all anymore but I was obsessed like the autism zoomer children are with minecraft and fortnite.
He didn't
There was a big stink about how the Trade Fed were jap caricatures and the gungans were Caribbean caricatures, but yeah, I don't remember shit about Watto being an actual happy merchant.
Exactly. The easiest controversy to pin on Lucas, is the one he got away with. Incredibly based if you ask me.
I owned a lot of them too, still have a few of them.
>Patricia J. Williams of The Nation stated that Watto was also described as a stereotype of Arabs, but that he was "more comprehensively anti-Semitic—both anti-Arab and anti-Jew."[6] She added that Watto reminded her of an "anti-Semitic caricature published in Vienna at the turn of the 20th century."[2] Jane Prettyman of the American Review noted that after leaving the theater, she heard two young boys describe him as "that weird little Jew guy with wings". Prettyman described his depiction as "not at all subtle", and said that "it can be counted on to flush out already-formed Jew-haters among young audiences and give them permission to continue their hatred out loud
I think it's more about being an impressionable kid that finds new things interesting.
>Looking back on the character on the twentieth anniversary of the film, essayist Aaron Freedman both acknowledges the stereotypical aspects of the character while admitting that as a boy he empathized with Watto as "the only representation we Jews get in the Star Wars franchise,"
>Jews see themself in watto
I always thought the trade fed were supposed to be china
The real answer is that George finances his own movies and exists outside the studio system. He had complete freedom to indulge in whatever he wanted
>that weird little Jew guy with wings
Based boys
>newfag redditors think Soi Wars was the first to do jew aliens
Man this board really has gone downhill
>The violent warrior race of evil in tos is black people
>The babbling incomprehensible retards in star wars are black people
Yeah im thinking scifi is based
Reading that the falcon was supposed to be a space forklift blew my mind as a child
I LOVED star wars as a kid in the mid 90s, had all the toys, the books, watched the VHS tapes every weekend. By the time attack of the clones was released I absolutely despised it. I can't think of anything else I've done a 180 on as hard as star wars.
(still have jedi Outcast and Rogue squadron PC installed though)
>Your jedi mind tricks do not work on me, only money!
amazing
I think a big part of the pull was the toys/pc games just as pc games were getting better.
Obviously that's been destroyed intentionally by disney, only films and books allowed, no computer games.
LucasArts going under was the death knell of my childhood desu. Autism I know but I'm sentimental about it I guess.
No KOTOR, my dudes?
Based. The few great video games are still good to me too. Jedi outcast and academy, republic commando, rogue squadron even 3 honestly is ok. Battlefront 2 is still fun but I just cant play it anymore
I was more of a Rogue Squardon: 3D kid. Best thing ever when I was 9.
>only cares about money
>called greedo
how did they get away with this?
Greedo was more interested in killing Han Solo desu since they clearly didn't like eachother. Luckily, after he shot at Han, he was able to shoot him back in self defence.
Lucas is a bigger Jew.
>So I know a lot of Jews being a Hollywood director; so I made a grubby little slave-owner with a big nose that can't be convinced of anything unless it involves money. I then hired a guy to do a goofy Israeli accent; then I put him in my movie cause he made me laugh so much.
based George dabbing on Spielberg
You'd think that being so obsessed with Han would have given him the knowledge that Han is fast enough to dodge point blank blaster shots.
