gotta agree. That marvel quipiness, I just knew. There'll be nothing clever, nothing cool, no decent toys, so on so on.

These movies are Thor 17 dressed up as star wars.

It went by so fast if I’m being honest, they should have done 3 years between each movie like the OT and PT.

same, I wanted to leave the theater at that exact moment. TFA is the only movie I saw out of the trilogy and that was in 2015. Hard to believe it's been 5 years.

tried watching a bit of Rogue One but it was so terrible I couldn't finish it

I can't decide if Disney were really stupid enough to think they could churn out Star Wars the same way they churn out their cheap TV shows and get away with it or if they were just looking to saturate the market and make as much money as fast as possible even if it ended up destroying goodwill and hurting the property. I'm learning towards the latter.

seethe tranny

They were thinking of the MCU and how that churns out movies, and they also thought people would pay to see Star Wars no matter what just based on the brand name. Sheer fucking hubris.

Can't let that happen. Gotta release a film every year to make sure people remember our product otherwise people will forget and we lose out on the dough. These films are soulless forgettable garbage. Had they waited three years each time, Star Wars would've flopped much earlier.

The whole village scene was a atrocious, didn't look like cinema, it looked like a cheap TV flick. I knewsomething was wrong readding the stupid crawl, it felt like fanfiction immediatley. Then when Poe put the map into BB8 I was thinking, WTF. Is this cholo the new Leia and BB8 R2? That was awkward and wrong. And then the movie keeps getting worse with each new frame.

it was basically A New Hope but with 300% more quips to make it more zoomer friendly
literally the exact same story

Superficially yes, but none of the reasoning behind each element is present.

Not entirely though. It still Frankensteins elements from the other films.

this is the only nu-wars i watched. how could you guys keep going after this?

Yup
I remember this happened and I looked over at my brother in the theater and we both shook our heads

This was her peak. She fell off so quickly.

would be better if she was a nudist

I was genuinely hyped for TFA. Left the theatre thinking two things. I waited all that time for a new hope remake with a girl luke and black han and I dont think this series is gonna go well.

If Disney released a new onions wars film, do you really think anyone would go see it?

I left TFA happy.
Then I thought about the movie for about an hour on my walk home and felt angry.

It's sad. I had higher hopes for JJ. Turns out he has no creativity.

>untalented, terrible actress who looks like a foot and has the body of a stick that got a role of a lifetime because she comes from a super wealthy well connected family

If it had baby yoda in it yes.

It was okay. There was obvious love for the subject matter and the lore. The problem was you didn't care about any of the characters. I can't even remember their names. And they all died of course, which is kind of bleak and non-adventur-ey and un-idealistic.

It *looked* like Star Wars but didn't *feel* like it, if that makes any sense. Vader's rampage was pretty kino though.

A little bit of both. They thought they could put ANYTHING out and people would suck it all in. And when people said "wtf was that?" They doubled down and said the fans were why these terrible shitty movies were hated. And than they begged for all those same fans to save the trilogy and please watch the last one see we like you guys now!! Its just been one jaw dropping act of incompetence after another.

I remember. I went to see it with family and leaving the theater, the general consensus was
>uh, it was pretty good! it was better than the phantom menace!

I don't think it was better.

Yes

If it had hot NC-17 Twilek soft-porn sex scenes you bet your ass they would.

>knew something was wrong readding the stupid crawl, it felt like fanfiction immediatley

Holy shit that was me. I went to two mega nerd star wara fans and as they were losing their shit I was reading the crawl thinking "wtf this is where we start?" Was making pic related face

No doubt; have you seen some of the creatures on twitter who like these movies?

I think I was more happy about the fact that "Star Wars" is back.
I went myself so when I walked home it was just me and my thoughts and came to the conclusion, "Wait a minute, this isn't Star Wars... Also how did Rey a random nobody beat Kylo? Also how did she learn the Force so quickly? Has JJ ruined another series just like he ruined Star Trek?"

>There was obvious love for the subject matter and the lore.

Did we watch the same series?

>have you seen some of the creatures on twitter who like these movies?
I'm not entirely convinced they actually exist.
