If you listen to the song they sample, Forget Me Nots, the background music and the vocal melody is entirely lifted. Though this is not uncommon for mid-late 90s hip hop when they would just steal an old song's samples, melodies, and vocal hooks, and then just rap over it. It's why people hated Puff Daddy.
