If they increased the speed by like 25%, made the voice actors better, animations better, etc. then it could've made me expel air through my nose. As it is now it's very clearly designed to waste 2 and a half minutes of air time

According to the Archie comic, they age at an extremely slowed rate. There's an arc of the comic series where they go forward in time to a post-apoc future, and Raphael's fox-ninja girlfriend has died of old age, but Raph is more or less the same as he was in the 1990s (just missing an eye).
