What is this? Matlock?

Twenty years after an Irishman couldn’t get a fucking job, we had the presidency. May he rest in peace.

>W-WHAT'S WRONG WITH SPELLING SOMETHING OUT THAT WAS CLEAR AS IF THE AUDIENCE WERE 1ST GRADERS!?!?!

the rat was literally a rat the whole time

Barnaby Jones

>The Departed almost had a completely different ending. Martin Scorsese toyed with the idea that after Mark Wahlberg killed Matt Damon, he picks his grocery bags, proclaims “Now I am the rat” and morphs into him.

rat's name is Sneetch

The psychiatrist didn't do it for me, should have picked a hot actress. Her oval head horse face is not attractive.

This was oscar worthy in the '90s.

>rat departs off the screen
HOLY FUCKING SHIT

Infernal Affairs sucks

she also does a terrible boston accent

It was more subtle than the original ending where Whalberg looked at the camera and said, "Everybody in Boston is a fuckin rat, especially the goddamn Gooks."

The original ending had Dignam shoot Matt Damon, then he said "that's what you get for being a fucking rat!" After a beat he looks to the window and says "no offense", and this is when the camera cuts and shows us the rat in the window. Then Dignam walks out.

Goddammit Marty

>tfw the petition to have the rat digitally removed from future releases got taken down

>Now I've become, The Departed™

Martin Scorsese is a bad director.

Why don't people like that shot? What meaning did you get out of it that makes it bad or aesthetially offensive?

What do you gain from contrarianism?

>It's a rat (any of numerous rodents (Rattus and related genera) differing from the related mice especially by considerably larger size)
>The entire movie is about rats (a contemptible person: such as a : one who betrays or deserts friends or associates)
Do you get it yet?

>Scorsese’s worst is still a relentlessly memorable and entertaining movie
that’s what the niggers don’t understand

So your problem is that it has no meaning beyond a visual pun? Or you dislike the comparison of liars and betrayers to actual rats?

I don't particularly care about it, but it's notable for being a retardedly blatant shot, like something a film school student would do.

If it's blatant then everyone should be on the same page about what it means, though. But I don't see many people bringing forward what they're criticizing. There are just vague ramblings like "everyone's a rat!", a cheap little way to package a lack of an argument into something that can easily decry the film.

WHEN I TELL YOU TO DUMP A BODY IN THE MAHSH, YOU DUMP THE BODY IN THE MAHSH. NOT WHERE SOME GUY FROM JOHN HANCOCK GOES ON THURSDAYS TO GET A FUCKIN BLOWJOB

Honestly I watched this movie like about six times before I noticed the rat
