Do you think they'll ever come back? Even if it's just for novelty perposes. I miss them so fucking much, bros.

No its a completely unviable business.
I don't know why they don't make the last Blockbuster store a sort of tourist attraction/museum.
Because it's in Alaska and the parent company is long dead and have sold off all it's assets years ago.
You can still rent DVDs from netflix
It's in Oregon so that just means you're completely wrong
So are arcades, yet Dave and Busters is still a thing.
There is just sincerely no market for it. Maybe in LA you could open up some sort of nostalgia based thing but it would only surge in popularity at first and then drop off quickly after that.
Imagine having to go to a store, walk around, look for a movie (which may or may not be there) and having to return it. God that sounds terrible.
Like I want to wait literal days for my movie to ship.
I honestly feel like there would be people that legitimately would miss the experiance of browsing blockbuster on friday nights and would make it a routine again. Especially since netflix has a major issue with not having shit all on their service now except for their horrible original content.
the parent company is dead, it's not like their is a bunch of old blockbuster stuff sitting in a warehouse somewhere. when a company declares bankruptcy they liquidate as much as they can, and bin the rest.
Then they're not an unviable business, are they? People love socialization, and they love activities to do while socializing. Arcade games + booze makes for a night out.
Going to pick a movie you already have on netflix is not a night out.
Oh yeah. I forgot how horrible it is for neckbeards to leave their house.
I liked going there and looking at all the PlayStation 1 games, everything was so new at the time and getting games was rare, so seeing all these games right in front of me was really cool. I miss going there and buying Yu-Gi-Oh cards too, I remember renting Mega Man legends, still one of my favorite games to this day
>He doesnt browse and try out new movies that catch his eye opening him up to new film related interests
Fucking leave the house more, jesus
>I honestly feel like there would be people that legitimately would miss the experiance of browsing blockbuster on friday nights and would make it a routine again.
You would be wrong. They literally went out of business because of this. They aren't going to spring back into business just because they miss a feeling, let alone making a 'routine' out of this
>hey friendo, lets pay literally just as much as we pay for our netflix account to go rent a single movie that we have to get out of the house just to find, assuming they even have it!
>the best part? we only get it for a limited amount of time, and when were done we have to return it!
>I mean I don't even own a bluray player lmao
Netflix has horrible selection.
Blockbuster was absolute utter garbage.
Also, there's at least one dude who has a rental shop that's basically a museum full of old movies and movie props.
The video mega marts are never coming back but maybe your city has an independent video store or two? This one still operates in my neighborhood. When I was a kid I used to go here play with the dog that was always hanging in the store and rent something like Ilsa She Wolf of the SS from their cult section. Good memories.
Tubi has a huge selection and it's all free
Most is garbage yeah but they've got some real gems that Netflix and Hulu don't have
I messaged them for you, OP. We'll see if they come back now.
No shit but its just what normalfags do these days. Also if you werent pirating movies back then you were a normalfag. So this entire thread is shit.
Redbox seems to be doing just fine.
No late fees, too.
I love tubi. Btw, is it pronounced "tubby" like a bath"tub"? Or is it Tubey? Like the nickname for a telivision?
Tubi is fucking great for it being free if you like old horror movies. They also have episodes of MST3K, Rifftrax, and Cinematic Titanic.
redbox is a vending machine.
If you ever had to pay a late fee than youre a faggot with bad time managment.
Still needs to be restocked and managed by someone.
You're a fucking LIFESAVER, user! Thank you so much!!!
Or you returned it on time but they didn't check it in correctly/quickly enough because they're high school kids who don't give a fuck, and the system automatically flags it as late and starts charging it to your credit card. Shit got worse when the "no late fees" came in because then they'd "assume you wanted to buy it" and charge you full original retail price for a tape you already fucking returned, so now you bought something you don't even get to fucking keep. Fuck you, you stupid zoomer piece of shit. You weren't even alive when Blockbuster was a thing you dumb cunt.
Kek
Just go to redbox outside of a walgreens and get some snacks
Sounds like you just had a really shitty blockbuster where you lived.
You also get very angry very easily and its very very funny. Please continue.
Every single Blockbuster was like that, kid. Go play Fortnight.
So I can rent all of the 9 movies they have available for a selection?
I almost don't see the distinction other than having a sanctioned building for the rentals and browsing aisles and stuff.
I guess people have uber nostalgia for the overall experience.
You've been to every single blockbuster in the world before they all shut down? Wow. Must have been a hobby for you. What did you replace that hobby with?
>What did you replace that hobby with?
Destroying little faggots like you online.
It is, also has Unsolved mysteries which I couldn't find at all online. The only other free streaming service before that was Crackle which was god awful
Still remember my local blockbuster had an event when modern warfare 2 came out, it was fun. Also going in there with my buddies drunk/high renting movies for the weekend and stuff... good times good times
