How so? He said he was horrified when he first discovered people were reporting on him being a Harvard graduate in the 90's and people tend to use it against him during banter like 'You went to Harvard, you should know this!', etc. etc. It seems like something he jokes about now because it's so a well known part about him and his background rather than some brag of intelligence.
The random historical references he'll make or stuff like saying a bearded Schlansky looks like a Russian novelist that's about to be executed speak to how well read he is. He knows his history and literature if nothing else. In his lockdown videos you'll see shit like busts of Roosvelt or hardcovers of history books and biographies lingering in the background.

His interviews with Olyphant are underrated. Watching them makes me believe Olyphant would have been a much better Tony Stark. You also get an alround better looking, tall guy that doesn't look so out of place among his taller, fit costars.

It still invokes pride due to what it used to be as an institution and the people that used to come from it. The reputation and history of Harvard precedes it, and that is where people derive their pride from it they get into it. Same shit for other Ivys, Oxbridge, etc.

I haven't seen a great deal of interviews with RDJ, but Olyphant honestly seems to have the natural charisma and wit that people go on and on and blood on about RDJ having all the damn time but that he actually lacks (in my opinion). Any 'coolness' RDJ seems to have with that aloof attitude and such seems very manufactured, whereas Olyphant's charm and such seems very natural. He also seems about as healthy and well-adjusted as a person can be, i.e. family man that married a high school sweetheart with no prolific drug and alcohol problems to speak of.

Probably because it's very civic in nature. Conan talking about being Irish and such probably angers those that hate any hint there's a deeper ethnic dimension at all to what it takes to be Irish, hence why I've read angry comments about how a Pakistani or something immigrant to Ireland is more Irish than Conan is.
