It was Greoning's little pet project after getting tired of doing Simpsons for 10+ years. The show was finding it's footing all the while FOX fucked it at every step of the way.

OP you're 100% right, peak Simpsons is the champ. but god damn Futurama (original run) is so good.

The original run is top notch. The revival had a couple good episodes, but overall it was a huge drop in quality.

Some of it's funny but I honestly don't think it's aged well at all.

It's impressively consistent from the 3rd or 4th episode until the last episode of season 4. Lots of comedy cartoons vary even between seasons, writers change,or they get bored with the vision.
Movies are fine, didn't like the 3rd, and hate season 5 and 6 retcons, only watched those once.

Simpsons had more clever and memorable (arguably iconic even) jokes but Futurama had better characters and more relatable episodes, and the emotional episodes hit harder.

You can definitely hear the hack Hartman ripping off his own voice in a sister show.

Nope. The FOX episodes were pretty good, starting with movie where they think they found Heaven but it's actually like a giant tentacle monster is when it went to meh, pretty sure that was when it started on CC.
