is this a bad or good thing?
hurts hollywood so it's a good thing
anything that increases the true board culture is a good thing. aka political bait shit or discord memes
Good because the chinks own them
Bad thing it's a cool place for people to work and occasionally go when theres that 1 in 50-100 that's actually decent. I guess it could be good too though if it actually cuts down on the lazy shit that hollywood pumps out.
everyone who works there that I know say its hell and a shitty company tho
The quicker people stop making movies the quicker our lives are saved
Let them die.
>AMC Theatres Bankruptcy Likely, Analysts Say
GOOD.
I hope all Hollywood and affiliated DIE!!
We back?
I know a manager who likes it but that could just be hes a manager. Also I guess things have changed since I was a teen, especially since I didnt know it was chinese owned.
Nothing is back. All these closed down cinemas are just going to be gutted and turned into Amazon wharehouses
There is like 4 AMC's within a few miles of each other on the same road near me what's gonna happen to them?
Disney will bail them out probably
Disney are having to bail themselves out. They don't have money for this shit
>Disney will buy them out probably
FTFY, cut out the middle man and just show nothing but disney films(at a premium price).
Its been illegal to studios to own cinemas since like the 30s
They should have had a six month emergency fund.
I will make it legal.
With how lax everything is involving big companies they'd probably be allowed to own them as long as it was owned by a subsidiary. The days of caring about any sort of monopolies seem to be long gone. Hell amazon has been working for a long time on having it's own delivery system to replace ups and usps.
Yeah its true, and the streaming wars are making the Paramount rulings a joke now anyway
>Hell amazon has been working for a long time on having it's own delivery system to replace ups and usps.
They basically already have it depending on where you are. I think they just can't go international yet.
they didnt pay off the right people, and with enough lobbyists and shell companies, all things are legal.
paramount rulings?

This was the big case where all the Wild West practices of early Hollywood were told to stop
Does this mean a small popcorn won't cost $6.00 anymore?
movies haven't been great in a while so it's not a big deal. local theaters will stick around and ride out the difficult times until movies get good again.
>theaters go under
>no place to show all the movies Hollywood is currently sitting on
>they all take a loss
>studios go under
we can finally rebuild
>local theaters will stick around and ride out the difficult times until movies get good again.
Most of them in urban or semi-urban areas are probably never open again after the quarantine
It is a bad thing. I'll admit that I like to see Hollywood struggle, and I like seeing those fucks get slapped with financial troubles. Unfortunately, it means that when all of this inevitably ends, studios are only going to make generic, formulaic, "safe" movies that are guaranteed to make a profit. Stuff like the Disney live action movies. Each of those movies nets millions upon millions of dollars. It's the safe bet. And for each Disney live action movie getting made, an interesting and engaging project film is not getting greenlit. Now, on the theater side, the ones that are riding this out are going to increase their prices even more - they don't have a choice. They are going to experience a kneejerk reaction when this is all over, and jump at the opportunity to turn a profit again. This means they will price gouge you. As much as they can. So, while all of this is funny and while it's great to watch Hollywood get it stuck to them, it just won't work out well once all this ends.
