for me the real 90s died with grunge.

I think of these eras as sort of as such (with some overlap):

New Jack Swing, Madonna's Blonde Ambition era, hip-house, Twin Peaks, New Kids on the Block, rap crosses over, Technotronic/Marky Mark etc, positive hip-hop, early rave, and ends with grunge breaking through

>1991-1994-ish
post-thrash bands cross over (Metallica's Black Album), Pantera / groove metal, grunge, gangsta rap supersedes positive hip-hop, edgy cartoons, Power Rangers, 90210

>1994-1996
alt-rock becomes mainstream, first 'fake' grunge bands (Live, Bush), heroin chic, brunette alt look popular, Beavis & Butthead, first reality shows, Friends, coffeeshop lesbo-folk, jungle, raves continue to grow, West Coast vs East Coast rap

>1997-1999
'electronica' crossover (Prodigy, Chemical Bros), trip-hop, Timbaland, new slick digital music videos, Puff Daddy, cheesy disaster blockbusters

It's minorly annoying for sure, and I do it a lot because I'm so distracted and lazy with my posts but then get annoyed with how carelessly I formatted my posts. Even as I'm writing this I can't be assed to really write with any more effort than if I were speaking lazily and drunkenly to a dumb person
