Go for a walk

Nah, too drunk and tired for that.

I've seen this movie before, when I was younger, and didn't understand it at all. But watching it again, now - as an adult - I still don't really get it. Not to mention the characters seem to be a lot YOUNGER than me, this time around.

So. Why is this as beloved as it is?

because not everyone is as retarded as you, user

Nice. The good old "ur retarded" card. Really perks up the discussion.

There's nothing "to get". It's just a meaningless story that takes you on a nice trip. That's it, that's what makes it so good.

dumb capeshitter, see

OP isnt a retard, maybe he is, maybe hes the CEO of retard, but that shouldnt prevent him from getting the movie. Hes just a literal incel without life experiences nor sense of the poetic or the drama and nonsense of life, he just lives a flat life, unaware of all of lifes complexities and intricacies.

Yeah, maybe, but there has to be some point to it, too - right? Like, why did shorthaired girl start snooping around cop#2 appartment? He wasn't even into her? So what was her motive?

>what was her motive?
to make his life better by tidying up is living space; that was hard, huh?

It's about loneliness and longing

Pre-Internet people seemed to have it easy. Just ask out the girl at the food stall or at the pet shop.

I don't really understand loneliness. I mean, technically I'm lonely all the time, but to me, that's just normal, you know? So what's the big deal?

Unironically can't be understood by incels

Congrats. You're not an incel.

>Pre-Internet people seemed to have it easy.
you can literally open an app on your phone and see hundreds of girls in your area without getting off the couch.
it has never been easier to meet girls

Well, assuming you HAVE a smartphone - which I don't. So I've never tried any of those new, fancy dating things.

However. I do have some nostalgia towards the "analog" world. So seeing CDs, pagers and that sort of stuff in the movie was nice. That's the kind of world we don't have anymore.

the repetitive use of that fucking song alone makes this movie unbearable. bloody awful, all i remember is that annoying song and wanting it to be over.

>That's the kind of world we don't have anymore
what's stopping you from enjoying it still exactly? it's not like those things stopped existing

>Well, assuming you HAVE a smartphone - which I don't
Yikes

>Just ask out the girl at the food stall or at the pet shop.
whats stopping you?

t. dumbfuck retard that has never found great meaning in a song before

Well, like the previous user claimed, "it has never been easier to meet girls". But what kind of girls? Smartphone using zoomerettes? I'm a guy in my 40s, there's no way I can just casually "meet girls", no matter what the context.

Sadly, past a certain age, it doesn't work like that anymore. That's why I'm nostalgic about it. That "90s life" was what I most liked about the movie.

i was referring to enjoying the older stuff
i'm only 25 and even i prefer older tech

This movie is fucking garbage that gets memed and hyped as some amazing masterpiece because it was one of the only pieces of media remotely resembling a western cinematic narrative that wasn't literal propaganda to ooze its way out of the brainwashed industrial hellscape that is modern China.

>hong kong
>ccp china
pick one

Who really even gives a fuck? You know, man? Who fuckin cares.

i guess you're right, the united states is no different to south america these days

>pleb who who finds meaning in simple catchy choruses
ah ok

It's about obsession and how to get over it.
>first segment: about a cop obsessing over an ex. meets this weird girl and spends a night with her in a weird way. ex forgotten
>second segment: about a femcel obsessed with a cop who's obsessed with a flight attendant. cop gets over flight attendant after discovering femcel has been breaking into his place and cleaning/changing shit. femcel gets over cop and becomes a flight attendant. she comes back and the table turned: he's now obsessed about her to the point of buying the place.

>modern China.

This movie is 26 years old and was made in a British colony, are you having a giggle, mate?
