Breaking Bad is more ambitious, but ends up being written haphazardly and without any real long term plan and so doesn't lie up to those ambitious. SCRUBs succeeds at being a fun, relatable show about medical residency that shits on most 'medical dramas'.

Clearly, because the jokes(3/4 of the show) were dreadfully bad.

Satan hating scrubs confirmed. Also it had moments that were funny but the characters were a little smug and self-absorbed for my taste. They kind of felt like How I Met Your Mother characters in that they were terrible people but the show thought you were supposed to like them rather than something like Seinfeld which had terrible people which the show knew were terrible. For that reason Dr. Kelso was the best character on the show, you were expected to hate him so he got to just be funny.

That smugness is typical of "American Comedy"

Nah, shows like Seinfeld and early Always Sunny didn't feel smug because you were supposed to laugh at how the characters were terrible people. Ironically I find the characters on that type of show much more endearing because I'm not supposed to sympathize with them.
