Started watching Deep Space Nine due to lots of free time.
Only nearing the end of Season 2 and I'd say its just as good as TNG. Does it get better? Are the other Star Trek series as good?
Star Trek
If you like Melrose Place in Space, DS9 will have you covered.
yea starts to get good season 3
>does it get better
Absolutely.
>are the other Star Trek series as good?
It's all downhill from the last season of DS9.
It gets better with every season, I'd say it's peak is at S5. There sure are bad episodes in S2 and especially S1 but S4, S5 and S6 are almost perfect.
Yes it gets even better. Such a great cast
DS9 is the last great star trek show. Voyager and Enterprise will be a slug to get through on the first watch. Only a handful of good episodes each.
Voyager is about as good as DS9. Enterprise is pretty bad.
You know I rewatched some recently and it isn’t as bad as you’d think. Of course it may be that there hasn’t been any good sci-fi in a long while.
lmao no fucking way is Voyager even close to as good as DS9. Awful cast and just all around a cheap TNG clone.
It gets better, at the end of S2 the enemies are setup up and more important the Bromance between O'Brien and Bashir starts too.
Like TNG season 6 and 7 are a bit weaker than 3, 4 and 5.
Voyager is crazy TNG, thus some episodes are godlike and other utter crap, the quality is all over the place.
So whereas TNG is mostly episodic, DS9 has more depth to its overarching narrative?
Yes and no. It's not like a modern show, it's mostly an adventure of the week show. There are multi part episodes and still most of them are there own separate thing. But overall there are archs in the background dictating what's going in general.
best treks
TOS season 2
TNG season 6
whole DS9
VOY seasons 4-7
first eight movies, except for the five and with the first being easily the best
Voyager has some really great episodes.
>it's a Neelix tries to kill himself then realizes if he did he'd be making a little girl unhappy, be missing out on pissing off Tuvok, and just making other people happy
>it's a Janeway murders an innocent man so two people can exist instead of one
>it's a Doc goes insane episode and they have to wipe his memory because he chose to save Kim instead of some girl who just had her birthday
>it's a Janeway and Paris become lizards and fuck then have kids episode
>it's a Paris and Neelix babysit an alien dinosaur episode
>it's a Red Foreman time travels genociding Jews episode
i was recently rewatching voy and that episode with suicidal Neelix made me cry for like 20 minutes.
>it's a Red Foreman time travels genociding Jews episode
what?
There are story arcs but the characters never change or learn and stay the same from season 1 to season 7. I love the show but exactly how many times did Major Kira have to learn that "Cardassians aren't all evil" before resetting to hating them again in the next episode?
Yeah he's time traveling and he kills a whole race of people and they have a really long drawn out war with Voyager.
>There are story arcs but the characters never change or learn and stay the same from season 1 to season 7.
are you fucking retarded? Every character changed, except maybe for Dax but that's understandable.
Numerals; for the founders consideration.
It's just too real of subject matter. I just like that Neelix doesn't really snap out of his depression but he just realizes that people would miss him. Also fuck Kes that bitch brought down so many episodes and Neelix is way better character without her.
So close but not close enough
ds9 is thorough, voyager is just blue balling
>Voyager is about as good as DS9.
Nah, janeways writing is awful and mulgrew's a bad actor. Siskos writing was constant throughout and his acting was theatrical which aides the setting far better than "smug captain bitch who practices nepotism"
The first season is far, far worse than any trek (STD and disacrd are not trek) and the writers retroactively make her choices correct by pulling story bullshit constantly after the fact.
7 of 9 was fapbait in a way that had never before been seen in startrek, introduced after the fact to get people to suffer through the terrible writing (it didn't work)
Odo was a riff off of Data in a way that allowed the viewers to have a connection with a person in this strange world while actually taking a different path than data.
Why is Dukat so based?
it doesn't though
I'll rape you to death
not if i rape you first
>steve shives
when you are innocent then life is easy
I've noticed the original series, animated, etc - essentially anything made by Gene Roddenberry, incorporated anthro ayyz, not just those freakshow humans. But then when TNG came around and everything after since Gene died, there have been literally 0 ayyz that resemble anything coherent that we've seen on Earth, or anything coherent at all really. Everything else has just been humans with wacky tumors and such
What happened?
TOS > TOS MOVIES > TNG > TAS > FIRST CONTACT >>>>> literal shit >>>>> DS9 > TNG MOVIES OTHER THAN FIRST CONTACT > JJTREK > ENT > VOY > PIC > SHORT TREKS > DIS
