My favourite portrayal of Jesus was DaFoe's, but that's because of the golden material he was working with (the Paul Schrader screenplay and the Kazantzakis novel).

Underrated post. The Last Temptation is both the best movie about Jesus (period), and also the best theological exhamination of the Messianic story on film.

Great choices. I would say James Caviezel is my favorite but Jeffrey Hunter from King of Kings was also amazing.
The Rabbi look of Jesus (long hair and beard) existed way before the Borgia. This type of look wasn't exclusive of the Rabbi, the Nazarene also had rules about their looks, including long hair.
