Idk about fake or anything, but the consensus seems to be that Rogue 1 was a bad movie but was watchable for the ‘battlefront cutscenes’ at the end and that Solo was mediocre but was disproportionately affected by the negative fan response to The Last Jedi a few months earlier.
Frankly, I’m disappointed by how poorly the latter performed because i was rather optimistic about the anthology films idea, if only because they wouldn’t each have to try to undo the film before them. It could have been an opportunity for Star Wars to try out new stories and settings without the baggage of needing to fit in to a trilogy format. I mean, not that the Sequels did a good job fitting in with each other, but at a certain point even the attempt to do so was making them worse.
At any rate, the failure of this anthology format combined with the release of the Disney streaming platform is why they’ve apparently pivoted towards quality television over theatrical releases. At this point the strategy seems to be working for them but we’ll see if they fuck it up with the 2 additional Disney+ Star Wars series.

Indeed, Filoni and Favreau are the hope of this franchise. The Mandalorian has been doing suspiciously well and it makes me afraid that Kennedy or whatever execs running Lucasfilm, just gonna go over their heads and somehow fuck up these shows.

I just hope they don’t rush into shoehorning a bunch of tie-ins to other Star Wars media and let the story breathe on its own for a little while longer. Don’t get me wrong - I would love to see some good Sequel era expanded content, I just dont think Lucasfilm can pull it off right now

Boring, grey and melancholy. I can't imagine children/families enjoying these movies. They were boring to me, I can only imagine a 12 year old watching this stuff and being entertained.
