The thing with text based communications is only a very small percentage of human interaction is linguistic. Things like tone of voice, body language, etc, are all more important to communication than language. But text strips all that away. But our brains don't just leave that void unfilled, the same way our brains never leave an information void unfilled, and this void is filled with whatever is most pleasing to a person's ego. Thus, how, all response becomes the desired response, no matter the content.
