I've never watched a James Bond movie.
Which one should I watch? Where to start?
Sean Connery, Pierce Brosnan or Daniel Craig?
I've never watched a James Bond movie
Watch Dr. No and Casino Royale (2006).
Watch Die another Day first, Then Skyfall and Spectre. Then Watch all the Connery ones, Then the Pierce ones and then the Craig ones.
Begin with the connery movies.
They are the start and best ones.
The 1 lazenby movie is pretty good but the actor is forgettable.
The moore movies are hit and miss. But mist are pretty fun.
The 2 dalton movies are great.
Brosnan has 2 good movies and 2 below average movies.
The craig movies hardly can be called james bond movies. They are just standard hollywood action movies.
The only one anyone needs is Goldeneye.
Goldfinger is Connery's best, start there.
Then go modern with Goldeneye, then continue with Craig's. If your interest is sparked by then, go chronological, be aware that Moore's get kinda silly though, same with Brosnan's later ones.
bond filmes aged terribly
the oldest ones i'd watch are the pierce ones
Only watch the d craig ones if you wanna see a no personality douche squint at the camera for 2 hours. Actually watch man with the Golden gun, thunderball, from russia with love, on her majesty's secret service, the spy who loved me. The new bond films are so fucking dull, the older ones are filled with creativity, character and colour.
>Which one should I watch?
All of them.
>Dr No
>Goldeneye
>don't bother with any of the rest
Watch Casino Royale and Skyfall. The rest are fucking horrible.
You Only Live Twice is absolute kino
In this order, watch
>Dr No
>From Russia WIth Love
>Goldfinger
>The Spy Who Loved Me
>The Living Daylights
>License To Kill
>Goldeneye
>Skyfall
Then watch Casino Royale.
If you really like the franchise, go and watch the rest of them. If you're lukewarm, don't bother. And if you're not feeling it at all by Goldfinger, tap out, because it doesn't get any better than that.
Dr. No, all subsequent films are self-parodying trash.
>watch three barely watchable movies first
is your plan to stop user from discovering real james bond?
back to your bourne flicks
Chronologically is best. Just hit the major ones to start off.
Dr. No
From Russia With Love
Goldfinger
On Her Majesty's Secret Service
The Spy Who Loved Me
The Living Daylights
Goldeneye
Casino Royale
live and let die is a must-see imo.
From russia with love is the best. Moonraker is my favorite though.
Daniel Craig doesn’t play bond, they make this explicit in the casino royale remake. By the way, the original ‘67 casino royale is worlds better than the soulless Craig movie.
Yea I remember when the bartender in casino royal asks him if he wants his martini shaken or stirred and craig is like "does it look like I give a damn?". Fuck whoever wrote that shit. Just a huge middle finger to everybody who enjoys the bond series.
Watch the Connery ones in order, then pick whatever ones seem interesting after. From Russia With Love is a legit great spy movie, not just a Bond flick
Just watch them in order. Start with Dr. No.
The reboot with Craig was to attract casual and non-Bond fans to the franchise. His Bond was a new 00 agent and was rough around the edges, which was also closer to the novels. The charm and wit were supposed to come in later films, but unfortunately he’s been stuck in the No Fun Zone since Quantum.
And he has little to no chemistry with he Bond girls. He’s such a sexless terminator the only reason women fall for him is because the script demands it.
Start with Dr. No
go on to watch From Russia with Love
then try Goldfinger
after that you should see Thunderbolt
I think you know where I'm going with this
none of hte james bonds movies are good except for CR and QoS. however, you should watch goldfinger to get a sense of early bond. and then nothing else
old james bond movies are autistic and boring as shit
just watch the new, include 90's goldfinger too its good
>none of hte james bonds movies are good except for CR and QoS
>I've taken hold of a fraction of Ecuador's fresh water reserves Mr. Bond, what will you do about it?
truly the most terrifying villain
I think he got the point.
Unfortunately in trying to attract new fans to the series they have stripped the bond films of any identity. Its just craig running and fighting in washed out blue, grey, brown landscapes. How can people watch this shit and say its the old ones that are boring.
Connery and Craig are objectively the best bonds (not necessarily the best films)
What exactly do you like about craig?
They’re trying to make Bourne films with Bond elements, but all that equates to is callbacks and nostalgia pieces, like the DB5. The worst is trying to dress Craig like Connery, but he looks awful in those suits.
All the posters above me are plebs. You should watch them all! But since i should give a meme answer, assuming you want to hit the high points in a single day watch:
Dr. NO
From Russia With Love
Goldfinger
Thunderball
On Her Majestys Secret Service
Live and Let Die
The Living Daylights
Licence to Kill
Goldeneye
Start with Goldfinger and just skip all of brosnan.
Anyone that tells you goldeneye is good hasn't watched it recently.
ORIGINAL POOOOOOOOSTER
HE’S A RUMP ROOOOOOOASTER
HE’S THE FAG
THE FAG WITH THE CLEFT BUTTOCKS
A MOUTH FULL OF COCKS
Based and Shirley Bassey-pilled
also I’m sorry OP this isn’t necessarily directed at you I just watched Goldfinger yesterday
You the real pleb. Dr no sucks and you forget one of the best bond films man with the golden gun.
Sean Connery
Lying cunt.
His physicality and, yes, his charm. I do like that he's a bit rougher around the edges. Though I think that they've overdone it as the film progressed. But I was talking about who portrayed bond best, not which bond is the best written character or whatever
Loicence to Kill
Watch them all chronologically. The first three + On Her Majesty's Secret Service are the best.
Avoid everything after Goldeneye.
all of them
from the beginning
how else are you going to appreciate the slow change the franchise undergoes?
His physicality is his strongest feature definitely but compared to moore and connery there is just something missing in his personality.
It's admittedly unlikely anyone here has read them but are any of the Dynamite Entertainment comics worth reading?
>nobody mentioning You Only Live Twice
Fucking plebs on this board
/thread
Its camp kino. Pretty much the most overdone and ludicruous plot of the 60s era. I love it too. It is so overblown. Its a movie that just doesnt fucking care what you think of it. I can respect that.
OP should just binge the first five imo. Then go for some of the less stupid Moore flicks from the 70s and 80s like TSWLM or Octopussy. Then try on the Dalton kinos. Then Goldeneye and Casino Royale I guess. The rest are varying degrees of dated, cringe and schlock. OHMSS is fine though but should not be anywhere close to the first one you watch. Save that one for later once you have plowed through some of the other kino (and even some of the schlockier ones) Same thing with FYEO.
Oh and avoid Moonraker. One of the worst movies ever made. Fucking embarrassing.
It's tough to compete with Connery, who is able to keep his charm even when he talks about slapping women who are out of place. I'm not the biggest Moore fan, he obviously has personality, but it feels like a shtick than anything else to me. I never understood why people hate on Craig. Not liking the films is one thing, but I like his take on the character. To me his personality works fine and the missing chemistry with the bond girls, that some have mentioned, are mostly because of the terrible performances of the girls themselves. I absolutely loath Eva Green in casino royal.
The most clear indication that craig movies aren't bond movies at all
>mostly because of the terrible performances of the girls themselves
maybe because they're supposed to pretend a potato faced manlet with no personality is hot. bond girls never had to do much "acting" with connery, moore, dalton or brosnan. lazenby is the only other bond actor who wasn't a total Chad.
This is the correct recommendation.
Goldfinger, Goldeneye, and Casino Royale should be your first 3 because they’re the best in the series. If you enjoy those, you can watch the rest. Be warned that the Roger Moore bonds are exceedingly silly
>potato faced manlet with no personality is hot
I don't get that at all. Craig is pretty good looking and has personality
>bond girls never had to do much "acting"
Maybe that has to do with the fact that these bond girls were written very one note and there was nothing to act out -which I don't have a problem with at all. Eva Green on the other hand is supposed to be a complex character and a strong woman. But she's just extremely brutal
His nickname among his friends is literally "Potato Head" lmao
Source on that
>Craig is pretty good looking
are you joking? he barely passed as handsome in casino royale when he still had decent hair and looked bulky thanks to steroids. this fucker is too goofy looking to play a badass street cop, let alone JAMES FUCKING BOND.
>and has personality
his delivery could hardly be worse. if he at least had a dark voice but he doesn't so he has to literally whisper to sound deeper. it's comical.
I don't know whose dick he sucked to get the part but there's absolutely no way they agreed on him due to his talent or looks.
Watch them in order from Dr No to Tomorrow Never Dies. The rest are not necessary to watch.
Watch Dr. No, On Her Majesty's Secret Service,
Live and Let Die, The Living Daylights, GoldenEye and Casino Royale
>watch skyfall before casino royale
?????
OP here, I'll have you know I also haven't watched any Jurassic Park films, and only watched Indiana Jones 1-3 a couple years back :^)
Don't settle for watching movies. Do it yourself. Do skiing, snowboarding, parasailing, hang gliding, base jumping, jet skiing, skydiving, and flying a pickup truck with wings all like an expert all on the first attempt and then stay in shape with all your faculties intact while you drink and smoke and wave your dick around without getting a single STD, then let everyone you've slept with tragically die from I don't know a building or something, then crash a bunch of sports cars and never acknowledge having to pay for it or anything else you do, just show up at all the parties like you were invited, go on, get out there and live your life.
They are charming in their own way. By modern standards they are campy as fuck, but modern standards are anti fun
Definitely one of Connery’s best
Simple. Start with Dr. No, and stop after Tomorrow Never Dies.
Craig's Bond is a feminist deconstruction of the character, the atmosphere, the 'tradition', the familiarity, and the man that Ian Flemming wrote. Those movies are not worth watching.
This. I always feel like the uninitiated should use Casino Royale as a litmus test, and if they enjoy it then they might like the rest of the series. Test the waters, then go back to where it all started!
I think you have issues, dude
They are shot out of order unfortunately. They should have just shot it chronologically with Sean Connery without any censorship it would have been kino starting with Casino Royale.
I would have been nice to see his character develop. Oh well. Connerys biggest mistake was not doing the lazenby film which is arguably one of the best.
I just can't understand the decisions they made why did they film thunderball and you only live twice before on her majestys secret service and the spy who loved me?
Start from the beginning like with any series you utter mong.
>Craig's Bond is a feminist deconstruction of the character
my only issue is that they murdered James Bond and keep pissing on his grave with shitty Bourne ripoffs. if the movies themselves were good I probably wouldn't even complain about the complete miscast of an actor.
The bond films are a reflection of their time. Nothing wrong with having a generation with a grittier bond. I’m sure people were saying the same shit about some of the ridiculous Roger Moore films at the time
Connery>Brosnan>Dalton>Moore>Craig>Lazenby
