wasnt that good, dont think anyone here saw it though

massive faggot here. you bet I bought my ticket to smash the patriarchy.

Better than prequel

Awful, incorrect opinion

Is star wars the most retarded sci fi universe ever created?
>silly swords used over guns
>space magic
>no actual ballistic guns

How could this franchise survive for so long when only A New Hope and Empire Strikes Back are any good?

>Implying

There is a moving moment where a character earnestly delivers an embarrassingly clunky line that he knows is clunky, out of respect for his former rival character who he heard it from because they have since heroically died. This is subverted, however in the third film where the character again delivers a clunky line, but now appears deeply embarrassed - and we can only understand it as rather than hearing it from an inspiring character, this line was heard from the writer/director and the actor themselves did not have enough respect to deliver it earnestly.

You know I'm right.

No, if you think Star Wars is the worst sci fi setting ever you've clearly not read even a fraction of the absolutely abysmal sci fi "novels" that exist.

What line?

The prequels barring the midichlorian faggotry are the best of all 3 trilogies

It was ok, lakcked the magic and comfyness of the other ones

the first line is something about Sparking a fire - a small group starting a large movement that can do a lot of damage. The second line is "*sigh*, somehow palpatine has returned"

>sci fi

I watched 7. Thought to myself
>ehh... it's not great but there's a lot of potential and hopefully 8 will at least have some cool Luke moments
Then I saw 8 and died a little bit inside. I didn't watch 9

Same. I wasn't impressed with 7 but I hoped they'd actually go somewhere with 8. They did, in the worst ways possible. I haven't seen Solo, episode 9 or the Mandalorian and I never will. Fuck Disney Star Wars.

So I work a lot with amateur actors. I would be so mad if one of them gave a performance like this. There's no way I'd put it in the final edit

I'm honestly just surprised that no one has filmed them/their friends running up and beating the crap out of Rian

God damn she moves like an animatronic

this is in reverse, I hate daisy but this is cheating

It's a failure on practically every level.
If you had absolutely no knowledge of star wars you MIGHT like it superficially, but the absolute lack of internal consistency, contradictory themes and obvious video game style of plot progression would still likely kneecap it

Trilogy a shit.

>Is star wars the most retarded sci fi universe ever created?
no gundam is.

It underwhelmed me but they aren't as bad as everyone says.

I watched the first one. I skipped through the other two at 2.5x and mostly watched the Kylo Ren scenes.

No, it's not. That's from the movie. She turns on the lightsbaer, looks around, than turns away.

It was pointless garbage.

I hate you

It made a fuckton of money. That was literally the only point in Disney buying LucasArts. They will probably milk it for a few more years and just kill it off.

Yes.

Nice file name lol

The fact she never closes her mouth brings about a pretty obvious implication as to how she got the role

It was good, because it’s so much and soo little alike. It goes against the normie story arch, and plebs can’t wrap their heads around it. Utter kino, user. Fuck the prequels

Based

Or, to phrase it differently, it was so bad that prequel cucks have started to think those movies were actually watchable

I just love imagining the direction going on during filming

All Star Wars movies are pretty equal, eh

Eat fucking shit

This

>more stormtroopers are incompetent meme
Rogue one was shit too.

I watched the three movies in the theater because I'm a cocksucking Star Wars fanboy.

And they were all shit, getting worse by each movie. At least last one had some decent fanservice for Sithchads.

This movie was better than any of the new trilogy shit or prequels.

Name 5 of the characters without looking them up. And the whole film was one (poorly edited) giant action that just never stops. I mean come the fuck on man..

Jyn Erso
K2SO
Director Krennic
Chunnuit
Galen Erso

Should I watch RoS? Haven’t been able to bring myself to do it. I didn’t HATE the other two, but they weren’t great.

Wow im impressed all I remember was K2 and Jyn. And I only remember K2 because he's named after some drug or something.

Sup e semicolon r

I mean, you might as well

THEY FLY NOW

Fuck just thinking about it makes me depressed

?

It's bad but if you like Sheev go for it, otherwise it's better if you just consume some other Star Wars media.

Sheev is stupendously based so yeah prolly should

Same. 7 was boring. 8 was just shit. Didn't bother with 9.

I only watched them I'd understand what Yas Forums is seeting about. The real kino always started after the movie.

I ltierally threw in the towel at space-Leia.

Everything I've gotten since then has been through webums and mootube clips because I just can't bring myself to sit there and stomach any more of that shit for more than a few seconds at a time.

Why is it that people liked TLJ? Is it because of Luke’s lessons? They honestly weren’t that deep, and we’ve seen the “hero becomes a bum, gets told off, and saves the day at the last second” trope before. This film, as subversive as the story was, really didn’t bring any new ideas to the table. There was the whole “Rebs and Imps buy stuff from the same people”, but that was a throw away line and not explored again

Some people like change for the sake of change. No matter how objectively awful those changes are.

Del Toro’s character stated to Finn that the Resistance and FO are no different to the rich of Cant Bight, and shows him that both sides buy stuff from the same twisted people, showing that war doesn’t matter to those who exploit it.
I was maybe thinking that that’s what causes him to stay with the resistance, since if he runs away, then that may be just as bad as the Canto Bight oligarchs: exploiting the war for personal gain.

I heard it's very good, you should watch it.

There was some decent cinematography and some okay character moments. Retard Johnson mostly went wrong in the subversion by thinking ‘what is the exact opposite of what people expect’ rather than ‘what is new and unprecedented’. If he’d gone out on a limb rather than trying to dismantle both Lucas’ and JJ’s contributions maybe it would’ve been interesting

VIII>VII>>>>>>IX

it's not canon, don't waste your time

rogue one is canon
mandalorian is canon
solo is not canon

What? What kind of sense does that make? How is actively participating in a war you've just been told is a money pit for people he hates, more morally right than walking away and choosing non-involvement?

I liked the idea and lesson of failure, and that’s supposed to be the main theme of the film. But the failure Luke had goes against the logic of the other films. “I thought about putting my nephew down out of fear he’ll be evil, even though I saved my dad, who actually was ever and did bad things, even to my mother and sister”. If the idea was the lack of light in Kylo compared to Anakin, that should’ve been the reason, but it’s all about Snoke. In that sense it would make sense for Luke to grab his saber, because “Ooh shit, SNOKE?!” as if he’s some kind of monstrosity even the great Luke Skywalker is scared of, but even that character was made to be an utter waste

Maybe because if he just runs away while there are good people harmed, it’s basically just in that same crowd of oligarchs (not in the direct sense, but this): just watching from the sidelines with your thumbs in your pockets
