WHERE'S MOTHER?
honestly glad I got it on UMD
I'm excited for ff7 remake bros
Same here, i know faggots over Yas Forums are seething over the story changes but i'll reserve judgement until i play it for myself.
The first time I saw this, the subs were great but I've never been ale to find the right subs again.
When cloud is at zacks grave he says "I swore I'd live out both our lives. Easier said than done"
All the other subs seem to stumble over that part and make a mess of it.
>Cloud: The Movie
>the other party members only appear in the final battle
>shit OC donut steel Seph clones get more screentime
Everything post the original FF7 is non-canon and people supporting the "remake" should be shot.
Not great but certainly not bad.
TIME JANNIES
Anime action is the cringiest shit. Imagine actually thinking teenagers leaping 200 feet into the air with giant swords and firing beams at a mishmash monster is cool or good looking.
Spirits Within is better
>Yas Forums
>complaining about shit that doesn't matter
Why am I not surprised?
How exactly?
>tfw not sure if you should wait until everything is released (if that actually happens)
Is Tifa Caucasian or Asian?
Don't cry
I remember I watched this with my group of nerd friends in 2008 or something and not having a clue what was happening. I do remember we joked about blood that looked like ketchup
good to see you..........cloud
Yeah, okay. Time to rewatch that fight.
>complaining about shit that doesn't matter
>advertising a sequel/reboot as a "faithful" remake
>not mattering
Lying to the audience is fine, according to you.
what does the title "Advent Children" even mean?
"Remake" is literally the theme of the game and it's implied the overarching plot will be about changing the original timeline. They're pulling a Rebuild of Evangelion.
Then they should have advertised it as a sequel. This is like saying, "We're remaking Back To The Future," and then delivering Back To The Future Pt. II. We were lied to.
Watched ACC yesterday. The graphics aged like milk. The faces are really low poly and they have those realistic textures plastered on them. Also there is shit ton of aliasing in the hair and the action doesnt really hold up.
The FFXV movie is way better both in plot, action scenes and scope.
>fun
Wasted fucking trips; it is literally the antithesis of "fun", for reasons this user articulates concisely.
More like Cloud. And Reno from Before Crisis, the DoCoMo mobile game with an extra cameo of fan favorite Vincent Valentine from Dirge of Cerberus
Its basically "BITCHONEN: THE MOVIE"
More like FF Advent Shilling. Please buy our docomo phone edition.
Kingsglaive is the true FF kino
you are not wrong
>watched the american dvd release as a kid
>"well taht was sorta fun"
>blu ray has all this added footage and blood everywhere
>"WOA"
The original version is kinda awkward in places but the BD Complete Edition perfected it
I made my mom watch this with me when I was a kid because I though it was the coolest shit ever.
I managed to repress this memory until I saw this thread, fuck you op.
>mfw I've never played a single FF game
What are they, even ? Why are some games Fantasy and other Sci-Fi ?
Japs are fond of using words they have no idea what it means but sounds cool. Infinite Undiscovery is actually the title of a game.
>he hasn't made infinite undiscoveries
Look at this Pleb who's never gonna make it!
Season of Children which makes sense with the whole Jenova plot giving birth to the planet and what not and the kids getting sick
Each mainline FF game (i.e. each one that has just the words "Final Fantasy" and a roman numeral for a title; no subtitles, "-2"s or anything) is a completely standalone game. Each one has its own distinct world, settings, plots, characters, etc. They're linked only by recurring mascot characters, general themes, and some evolving gameplay concepts. So, some are pure high-fantasy, some are fantasy/sci-fi mixed, some are pure sci-fi, etc. The most reason mainline game was a modern fantasy. There's also a bunch of spin-offs. The spin-offs that have a roman numeral in their title are directly connected to the main game with the same numeral (Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children is a spin-off of Final Fantasy VII; Final Fantasy X-2 is a direct sequel to Final Fantasy X). The ones that don't are generally standalone, and there's lots of non-canon crossover stuff too.
They're generally well-made JRPGs; even the worst of them are usually quality products, though they're definitely on the entry-level side of the genre. Most people tend to enjoy them more for the worlds/stories/characters, though they tend to have good character customization mechanics that makes them great for restricted challenge runs.
It's referring to how the children (the silver-haired fuckboys and the kids they snatch) signal the advent of Sephiroth. "Advent" literally just means "the coming of a notable person, thing, or event," and it's also the name for the fast that Christians partake in leading up to Christmas. Also, notice how if you take the first letter of each of the FF7 spin-offs and put them together, the prequels are "BC" and the sequels are "AD."
Basically, it's just saying that Sephiroth = evil Jesus, and his arrival is foreshadowed by the kids who come before him.
>>the other party members only appear in the final battle
Wat, Tifa has a big fight scene towards the beginning.
Wish they would try their hands at adapting some of their games or at least some arcs into movies again. I think Crisis Core movies about Angeal, Sephiroths, and Genesis and their pre-game heydays would be amazing. I was rewatching it and it held out pretty well for a full CGI movie from 2005.
This scene was so kino too.
youtube.com
if there were no changes they'd complain it was just a lazy remake with no reason to buy it other than being a graphics whore.
I dropped my interest when they announced it would be episodic though, they're going to milk one game into ten for the shekels.
I see. Thanks for the QRD user. I mostly remeber all the Sci-Fi ones, some with a blonde DBZ guy, a white haired guy and a pink haired Knight-like chick. Is anything worth playing? I liked the Sci-Fi atmosphere and designs.
annual reminder that final fantasy six is easily the patrician choice. kefka is the best final fantasy villain, not that there is stiff competition. most final fantasy villains, shit most video game villains, are the tortured soul gone a little psychotic. kefka is just unadulterated 'evil'. the type of being which you can be sure exists alongside fractured souls gone rogue. as i have matured and studied history the steady realisation that there are more kefka-types out there than any of us would think, the more sobering each intake of breath becomes. it would be childish to call such a being a 'monster'. rather, like kefka they see themselves as gods, and given the opportunity, they too would destroy all of cosmos. a more fearful notion than emo tears and mummy problems, if you ask me.
The history niggas need to be seen to be believed.
It’s the most bafflingly retarded addition to a story I’ve ever seen
That's still only one character. Heck the original game had 3 party members in battle, were's the rest?
It's basically just star wars without space
The most retarded shit is "the whispers" which basically makes everyone that matters immune from any consequences.
Things I liked from advent children:
Redone music, the metal mixed in was a nice touch. The original stuff was great too, like The Promised Lamd
Character design
Consistent quality in design and animation
English dub actors did a pretty good job despite nonsense script
Disliked:
Silver fuccbois. The biggest and strongest looking one was a crybaby? If they were each meant to represent a different quality of sephiroth, it could've been done way more gracefully
Minimal time with the party. All focus was on tifa and aeris. It's been two years since some pretty significant shit went down, wouldn't their lives have changed too?
Pretty grey and washed out world. The game had tons of different locations, but we only really saw the wreckage of midgar in it's grey hazy glory
It is a fun movie for sure, just wish it was made with a little more love.
Huh. No Space at all or just for the Fantasy-Centric ones ?
Oh nononono
I'd say they're worth playing if you're interested in JRPGs at all. If you just want the most accessible and probably highest quality game, with the sci-fi atmosphere that you seem to like, the VII Remake that just came out is probably your best bet, although if you can get over shit graphics, I'd recommend the original FFVII before playing that. It's a great starting point into the rest of the series, and the blonde guy you've seen is most likely the mc from that game. The pink-haired girl you're talking about is most likely the protag from XIII, which, along with VIII, are the most sci-fi but also generally the most divisive ones. FFX is also a good entry point into the older style games if you can't quite stomach the old graphics of VII. V, VI, and IX are all good as well, but you can really start anywhere, just pick the one that looks the most interesting. The games have all been ported to damn near every modern console plus PC, so you should be able to play whichever one catches your eye
Think of it as guardians of the galaxy but on earth and magic and shit.
what the actual fuck is this shit
I see. Thanks user, I'll take a look at the Sci-Fi ones at some point.
MCU GotG or Comic GotG ? Do the Sci-Fi ones still have Magic ?
they all have magic
MCU Gotg
Advent Children Complete is unironically decent.
I see. Well, enough questions. I'll check out Steam, and play some of them once I build a better rig later this year. Thanks for the help user.
Hm. Can't say I'm a big fan of the MCU version, but that's mostly because of the characters/formula. I'll check out some FF stuff and see for myself.
