Matrix has the teenager epiphany of "people in power manipulates through the media and has put in place a system to rule over the lesser people" but tries to cover the infantile and obvious nature of it with religious symbolism both budhist and christian that adds nothing to it and rather reveals it as pretentious. Brainlet fans try to find way deeper meaning than the Wachosky trannies ever did.

Speed Racer has exactly the same message but they give it the seriousness it deserves. None of it. The villain is comically evil and simplistic just as the whole revelation/pretense of I DISCOVERED CAPITALISM BAD XD.

It has better and more original visuals (matrix aesthetic is lifted from GiTS and Vincent Gallo cucked them with the rotating slowmo effect months before). Also, Speed Racer has its own visual and cinematographic language. Something that Matrix doesnt.

Speed Racer will be forever the better movie, and the best DURR CAPITALISM BAD the trannies ever did.

Marilyn Manson's Mechanical Animals (rock is dead is part of the Matrix soundtrack) was pretty much the same shit and same themes you are describing here. Other comic books that Matrix lifted from them also had the same themes like the invisibles. So Ghost in the shell (where they lifted not just themes but even aesthethics).

So it was something common. Not something really much different of what other artists were doing at the end of the 90s. You are revealing yourself as the zoomer by ignoring the actual landscape of sci-fi during late 90s.

The Tranny sisters literally made everyone involved with the production read a pile of books to as a mere introduction to the character of the story. The fact that they drew from so much science fiction, scientific, and philosophical literature and managed to water it all down into something so naive and one-dimensional is a more impressive feat than any technical wizardry in the movie itself.

Ok, I read enough. From the cable in the back of the head, including the themes of man machine interface and identity, to the fucking action scene of the columns. The trenchcoat with lenses. The weapon holders as fashion.

I love this Tom of Finland police officer and this pose. I could watch this small clip over and over again over anything in speedracer which is honestly just an overrated headache in retrospect. I'd rather just play a video game. This shot is so great that all I need to do is search "police officer matrix" in google and I can instantly find a bunch of screencaps of this lil nigga. You'd think it would be difficult considerig the movie is full of police extras. There probably isn't a single forgettable shot in this movie. It's pure sex.
