Lone Survivor >Marcus never fired a single round >There were no enemy bodies found on the mountain >Once the person who rescued him called out their script/story they were fabricating, they had him deported back to Afghanistan after he lost everything to save Marcus
American Sniper >Chris Kyle was a sociopath and a pathological liar >Shot at non-armed combatants because he thought it was funny >Never had anywhere near his "confirmed" kills >Was a wife abuser, a drunk and most of the movie was flat out made up
13 Hours >A stand down order was never given >There weren't nearly that many enemy combatants >They spent most of the night just sitting there with their thumbs up their asses until they came under a mortar attack
The only decent American movie that's nearly 100% true is We Were Soldiers.
>Marcus never fired a single round >There were no enemy bodies found on the mountain
The Taliban actually filmed the complete ambush, it's on YouTube. You're full of shit.
>Once the person who rescued him called out their script/story they were fabricating, they had him deported back to Afghanistan after he lost everything to save Marcus
He was never deported because he never moved to the US, why are you making things up? He visited Marcus in the US a few times I think and they are in good terms.
You're right about the other two though
Dylan Jenkins
there's an interview with the guy iirc where he states that marcus doesn't give a shit about his situation
Juan Miller
>Marcus never fired a single round
Which is disputed and most likely not true.
>There were no enemy bodies found on the mountain
Because the Taliban took them with them of course. They were deep in Taliban territory, it's not like they didn't have time or anything. The Taliban said themselves that they had casualties in the fight.
Christian White
ok what about black hawk down
Asher Taylor
I've seen their POV. They show a couple of them dead. Marcus ran the second they started shooting at them.
The guy was told to play along or else. he started questioning the story Marcus was telling and telling people those things never happened.
When Marcus was found, all of his ammunition was in tact and not one single magazine was used.
Brandon Cooper
pure propaganda. the pakistani UN troops aren't shown to do anything in the movie. in reality, they saved their asses.
Ryder Collins
I guess you haven't watched the movie.
Matthew Miller
They're shown to show up when everything's over. I think one of the Americans even makes a snarky comment about them being much too late. Which is complete ficiton, they literally saved the Rangers that day.
Adrian Wright
>When American military movies show boot camp soldiers as hardened smart mostly white guys
In reality, most people in boot camp are Mexican and most of the people you meet are dumber than slugs. That comraderie shit they put in every military movie is funny to me.
Nathan Williams
>when everything's over. I guess you haven't watched the movie.
Tyler Morgan
So many shills in here defending cowards. Take the flag dildo out of your asshole, trump will send you socialist bucks no matter what.
Zachary Davis
now Jarhead?
Jaxson Campbell
We Were Soldiers Is the best? Really? I remember seeing that when it came out and thought it was so fucking corny and clean-cut.
Ryan Miller
Jarhead's genuine. Just check if a movie gets official support by the US army. If it does, it's most likely propaganda. Like Blackhawk Down. If it doesn't, it's most likely true. At least if they wanted it and were rejected.
The US army offers massive support for war movies, like giving them tanks and planes and whatever the fuck they might need to film it, but in return they demand to be able to change the script if they don't like parts of it.
Lucas Bailey
These Abduls do some translating and guide work for you and then think they won't have to work for a day in their lives and that NATO will just have their back and bankroll them to sit on their ass and smoke hashish for the rest of their lives. Scum of the earth.
Jaxson Hall
>>Shot at non-armed combatants because he thought it was funny
I had no idea Kyle was so based
Jacob Thompson
>can't even spell camaraderie
Brayden Robinson
The man literally risked his life to save an American soldier and protected him from the local Taliban by hiding him for days. He sent a messenger to the nearest US base and had him picked up. He did all of that because of the Pashtun code of honor which dictates that an honorable Pashtun has to help those who are in need of help and can't help themselves. He's a fucking hero and should have been given everything he wanted by the US government
Parker Sullivan
yeah they also fund movies if im not mistaken they paid Warner bro's to be part of the 2014 Godzilla reboot
Jaxon Bell
>Pashtun code of honor which dictates that an honorable Pashtun has to help those who are in need of help and can't help themselves I wonder how many Taliban he helped over the years
Leo Morgan
>should have been given everything he wanted by the US government
I thought he did it all because of the Pashtun code of honor, not the pashtun code of getting paid
Jack Robinson
his situation is that he was marked for death by the taliban because of lone survivor and had to flee afghanistan, only to get deported back there for telling his side of the story.
Levi Morris
They're functionally the same thing actually, you are expected to repay the debt somehow
Justin Thomas
So what. He finds an injured man, he helps him. That's honor.
Cameron Hall
>black hawk down is propoganda literally shows how the muricans fucked everything up with their own arrogance
Brayden Butler
the book was good, too >shooting some gook who was coming at them like john wayne until they could see daylight through him
Michael Jenkins
>So what I think the immigration department might have some issues with someone who potentially aids and abets terrorists
Jackson Phillips
Aren’t the Pashtuns those gay guys who fuck little boys?
Andrew Nguyen
This. The only thing the movie fucks up is they play up the infighting too much and a few people are misplaced. Been awhile since I read into the battle but I think Eversman was with the convoy, not roping in with the blackhawks.
Andrew Roberts
>I CAN NOT PROMISE YOU THAT I WILL BRING ALL OF YOU HOME, ALIVE >DEAD OR ALIVE, WE WILL ALL COME HOME TOGETHER >SO HELP ME GOD >WE WILL BE LANDING UNDER FIRE GENTLEMEN, MEN WILL DIE
>terrorists that's not a nice way to refer to the legitimate government of Afghanistan and a longtime CIA partner force
Oliver Rivera
>>The only decent American movie that's nearly 100% true is We Were Soldiers. because it was made as close as possible to the book, and the book was written by none other than Col. Hal Moore.
Jaxon Fisher
generation kill was based
Carter Murphy
>FIX BAYONETS
Ayden Cox
>Mel Gibson
Julian Davis
Really? You needed to clarify that 13 hours, a Michael Bay film, probably didn't accurately portray what really happened? On another note, I thought Transformers was pretty close to the real life events of 1750 when Megatron tried to destroy Earth. Brave heroes.
No shit it was glorified for audiences but the actual events are pretty accurate. They were attacked by an unknown number of terrorists all night. OP is obviously just some cock sucking leftist commie who is mad Bernie dropped out.
Brayden Reed
Uh? Pakistani troops didn't take part in the fighting just arrived once it was over to escort american's asses
Robert Long
Kys Mel and Sam Elliot were based
Asher Reyes
pretty much, the amount of fat people and dumbasses in my basic were astounding.
i was one of them too
Samuel Adams
No bullets were fired you government shill dick sucker coward
jarhead to date is themost acurrate military movie to date.
a bunch of wsuting around and dealing with bulshit while if your the (un)lucky few get to see an actual firefight
Gabriel Powell
Generation Kill is better because it gives the sense of comradery that alot of veterans miss when they come back.
Nathan Butler
They even lost a few men that day
Jaxon Butler
Imagine belonging to a military that actually gets pushed to the breaking point, like the IJA in the pacific, CSA in the americn civil war or the german army in WWI. Nightmare doesn't begin to describe it, more like a real apocalypse.
Kevin Butler
Hillary will never be president Muhammad eats pigshit Dilate and seethe tranny
Levi Peterson
>We Were Soldiers It's mediocre at best. Read the book instead of watching this if you're looking for a real account. The plot, in general, follows the actual events, but then they cut out this and that and then add those propaganda tear-jerking moments like showing their families (as American as an apple pie!). Other things I remember standing out after having watched it a decade or so ago, besides the whole thing looking off because it was filmed in CAand not in Nam: >the slick guy suddenly shows up with a minigun, wut >the final slow-mo charge is fake and gay >Joe Galloway was depicted as a civilian who had to pick up arms to defend himself and his own, whereas in the book he's always totting an M16 Propaganda at its finest, portraying warmongering as heroism, leaving out some uncomfortable moments and putting emphasis on humanitarian ones. When the credits roll, the book is also only half-way done. The other half covers the aftermath: some of the soldiers were marching to another LZ to be extracted, when they ran into a VC force and got licked. Again, leaving out something that wouldn't look that patriotic on screens. Unfortunately that means that some amazing scenes weren't recreated either. The ones that have stuck with me are of an US serviceman getting stranded, hiding in a nook, when VC were passing by and one of them saw the guy, but let him be. Another one is Rick Rescorla keeping the morale of his surrounded troops high by singing Men of Harlech. That guy honestly deserves his own movie. He later went on to work as a security chief at WTC and was there on 9/11. He was last seen re-entering the building to look for more survivors to evacuate. tldr the movie does a poor and incomplete portrayal and the book should get a BoB treatment and be turned into a mini-series instead.
Speaking of, Band of Brothers should be the answer to the OP. Haven't read BHD yet but it looks like aside from downplaying the role of the UN troops it's fine.
Daniel Fisher
Sounds like you're losing this argument, bud
Dominic White
>amerimutts jacking over war almost as bad as the r*ssians
Hudson Baker
Black Hawk Down >Eversman is shown to be out in the field in the night >Actually spent the night at the Base
Alexander Perry
>soldiers are brave and do everything right, war is an adventure where you kill hundreds of enemies that's how propaganda is done
Ethan Butler
All those years acting high and mighty, and you take your ball home forever? Getting BTFO by the Japanese at singapore really was the end huh
Leo Young
ragging on Mexicans despite everyone that served knowing that the short Hispanic guy is the one that actually does something useful in a firefight. never served gon never serve
Adrian Cooper
The best american war movie bar none The whole surreal bridge segment is etched into my mind
>The events of 13 hours was accurate LOL no it fucking wasn't. Not even close. A few shitskins got uppity and burned down a compound. A few men died because of mortar bombardment. That is it. There was no massive wave of enemies like in the movie.
Easton Sullivan
Oh I'm sorry, were you there? So all of the people on the ground and all of the personnel there are liars? The constant rocket attacks and gunfights were all fabricated by the dozens of people who were trapped in the compound?
Joseph Taylor
>They wrote books so they must be telling the truth Yes, people never write books full of bullshit "AMERICA FUCK YEAH WE WERE HEROES" tall tales for money or anything because burgers eat it up.
Austin Morales
>Rescorla Was a Britbonger who joined the US Army, so obviously Mel Gibson wasn't going to show him.
