I like some No Doubt songs but she can't really sing
I want to stuffani my gwenis in her
>1997
>15 y o
>living with psycho mom in apartment
>obsessed with mountain bikes
>starting to explore my area on my bike
>unfinished bridge to fuck around on
>grandmother in her grandmotherly prime
>always riding back and forth to her place a couple of towns over
>she always gives me bread pudding to fuel my bike trips
>this No Doubt album as part of the soundtrack to this period of my life
I miss you so much omatje.
Who cares? She's hot so it balances out.
she fuged a poo and married a fag
Hey guys! Remember me? I'm so glad ska is doing better than ever!
based gwen, when is she getting back together with no doubt?
is that reverend horton heat?
holy shit, are you really 40 years old and still browsing here? damn, that's quite impressive. are you a shut in NEET or do you actually have a respectable life?
It's me, Aaron Barrett from Reel Big Fish! We had a song about beer!
He's 37 idiot. I know because I was also born in 1982.
wow, didn't believe such dinosaurs as you lurk here.
1985 here. I remember when Tragic Kingdom came out, had it on cassette. All the singles from that album were in heavy rotation on radio and MTV. Skateboarding with friends, watching the new Xfiles every week. Life was simple and good then.
90s was cool. Now because we're all connected via the net everyone is exactly the same across all cultures.
>are you a shut in NEET or do you actually have a respectable life?
I'm a 6'3" Yas Forums chad with a blonde bombshell wife, a really nice 750k house, a kid, and tons of money (Chainlink).
>(Chainlink)
I was buying it until this part.
Thus, American popular culture.
Don't worry, you'll kill yourself before you get that old.
I'd give it all away and go back to grinding translations just to get 5 minutes back with my grandmother in 1997.
TFW 88 fag
fuck you
To be fair, Reel Big Fish are on every festival lineup as they the SKA band
Is this the thread where I have to remind young fags I'm 39 but I spent my youth fucking and living while THEY are here on Yas Forums in their prime?
Oh no no no no no no no no no no no no
Powerful. I can't imagine how was Gwen and her boyfriend felt while playing this song.
who
I can empathize
>"I HATE THE WAY THE MEDIA FOCUSES SOLELY ON ME, WHEN THIS IS A BAND, AND NOT JUST ABOUT ME!"
--a few years later --
>"I THINK I'LL TAKE A TIME-OFF FROM THE BAND TO HAVE A SOLO CAREER FOR A FEW YEARS. THE BAND IS IN PEAK POULARITY, SO IT'LL BE OK!"
--a few years later --
>"I'M BACK WITH THE BAND! SURE I ROBBED THEM OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS, BUT HEY I'M HERE NOW! HEY WHAT DO YOU MEAN WE'RE HAS-BEENS AND NO ONE GIVES A SHIT ABOUT NO DOUBT ANY MORE?"
They should have replaced her the second she walked so at least they could have something for a career.
ah, fuck you, melomaniac!
85fag here too.. first album was offspring americana. it truly was a better time.

For me, it’s Me First and the Gimme Gimmes
Great taste. Ever see them live? Saw them last year, and they are one of the few bands that actually sound like their studio albums. Kino show
no, i've never seen them live. when this quarantine thing breaks maybe i should find a show. be real with me though, are they so old now that it'll ruin it? do they at least still sound good?
it's pretty great when those guys actually play together as a group. rare though.
I'm not sure I'd want to see no doubt live after like 1998. feels like it would ruin something.
just realized you meant offspring, nice. makes me think of the stupid cd wallet I had with like these guys, smash, (pretty much everything mentioned in this thread actually), dookie, let's go, more noises, etc etc. and of course the stupid cd walkman that barely fuckin worked because skip tech hadn't been invented yet.
>LIVE KINO PERFORMANCE THREAD
let's do it

Not Fucking with you. They actually sound fucking great. Don’t really do anything other than play 18 songs and say good night. I mean, they’re dads, and that’s what you get. But Dexter’s voice still sounds like it’s 1997, and they don’t rely on ‘Pretty Fly,’ in fact, I’m not even sure they played it the three times I’ve seen them at festivals.
I saw No Doubt in 2015 at a festival. This festival usually has three main acts playing at once at different sections of the grounds. It’s always rock, hip-hop, and some hipster shit I’m sure no one shows up to. So many young Latina women left in droves when they realized they were getting Gwen’s catalogue, and had no idea trumpets existed outside of mariachi music. Funniest shit I’ve seen. No Doubt’s set was 6/10, though. No soul
>skip tech
i wrecked a car into a tree in high school because of this shit. i had a cassette deck in a 4 door escort and i had that cassette-to-cd-player adapter plugged into a cd player with early skip shit. i had to keep hitting it though to get it to work right and i was on a dirt road so it's skipping like fucking crazy and it was foggy like pea soup and i looked down for a second to check the cd player and when i looked up there was a tree right there in the middle of the hood. my hand went into the windshield and i got glass in it. the road was on the side of a steep mountain but thankfully it didn't start rolling down the hill. still, i was dazed and got out the drivers side which was down hill.. i could have easily gotten squashed like a retard if the car wouldve moved. walked back home.. had to tell dad i ruined this used car we just bought and we were dirt fucking poor so 1000 dollar car really meant something.
still.. i wanna go back so bad.
Not bad tbqhwf
youtu.be
nice satan trips
yea, i'm not even big on 'pretty fly'. it was one of my least favorite on that album. i never understood why that got to be their flagship song while 'the kids aren't alright' was on the same damn album as well as 'americana', 'staring at the sun' and 'say no way' or whatever that one is where they say 'my friends got a girlfriend and he hates that bitch"
that's a story, alright. sounds lucky you didn't get killed. probably a phrase that describes my youth pretty well too actually. was talking to some old friends over the holidays and reminiscing about stupid shit, just the sheer number of crashes with cars or bikes, jumping off roofs or out 2nd story windows, burning crap, blowing crap up, and a million other things. somehow still breathing. not missing any fingers either. go figure.
>No Doubt’s set was 6/10, though. No soul
that's unfortunate but expected
that was the time for it. i realize at this age why our parents hated jackass. i absolutely did a fuckload of stupid shit as a direct result of laughing my ass off watching that show.
The Warped Tour days are over, friend. There are no more Vans to be worn, no ramp tramps to be had. Many such cases.
heh, nice. I already had the better share of my scars and had (mostly) gotten a little wiser by the time that show hit the air. still watched it of course but I wasn't looking to copycat. which.. I dunno that's like 16 or something for me. Sounds funny in hindsight to say you'd gotten "older and wiser" compared to anything by 16, but pain is a pretty effective teacher.
for us anyhow. that's ok, there's a younger generation out there having their times. it's our turn to shake our fists and tell them to slow down and turn down their shit music. goddamn kids.
I'm 42 and browsing. r9k is a great board for reminding myself I'm not a loser. At least I'm not one of them.
not that user, but reasonably normal/respectable in my case. I think that's probably the norm, it doesn't seem like there was as much of that in our age bracket. I knew a lot of really weird fuckers growing up, but I can only think of one or two that turned it totally inward like that. plenty of other tragic endings to those stories of course, just that particular flavor seems like it's more a 90's / 2000's kid thing.
can we go back to the mid to late 90s forever please bros
same. 88 fag here. did you know dexter holland is a bonified genius? he's a phd in computational molec biology. he has several publications. man was also valedictorian of his HS class and described math to be as fun as punk rock.
I wonder if he's better at math
>bonified
nah, cmon, that's gotta be 2000 or 2001
Sounds like he has...self esteem
1999 same year as Eminem and Limp Bizkit breakthrough
Postin' in a based 90s thread.
90s jeans still makes me cringe
