It’s shit
It doesn’t make me want to kill myself

It was absolute fucking garbage.

Kylos first outfit was cool.

It was uninspired and lazy.

it's trash

it killed the franchise

Mark Hamill gives a tremendous performance in spite of the fucking woeful material

>ITT: We say something critical AND something positive about the sequel trilogy.
no fuck that and fuck you too

Kylo’s nose is too big. The whole series represents the color brown.

It sucks.
Daisy is a cutie, especially in TFA.

it's so bad it made people think the prequels weren't shit, too

more meme fodder

Critically, some of the worst films ever filmed.

On the bright side, it's over.

Kylo's TLJ outfit is easily his best one

It was a complete train wreck whose only trick in the book was to one up the OT by making a BIGGER THING.

TLJ was an infinitely more interesting film to discuss than TFA or ROS that lead to some great content on YouTube.

TLJ is absolutely demented but I must admit it is very fascinating. The thought process and talent that went into making such a deranged train wreck is going to be analysed for years to come

TFA and TLJ are pure shit. TROS is legitimate kino

Movies writing feels terrible and disjointed.

They look amazing.

they won't stop shilling it
it keeps indians employed in this harsh time

Kylo Ren was a good character and Force Awakens was a good movie.

Literally nothing else was good.

Critical: Absolute garbage
Positive: It made people like prequel a bit more

>Force Awakens
>Good movie

It's literally the worst Star Wars film by a significant margin

cgi can make anything these days so they did what they could rather than what they should

it's nice to see that the practical effects guys and the costume people are still doing great work

It was poorly managed behind the scenes and didn't live up to the legacy of Star Wars.
It was mostly fun and had some new interesting ideas, will leave a lasting impression on people through lovable characters like Rey and Kylo.

shit opinion, but you're entitled to it

wasn't planned, terrible decisions
still better than the prequels *dabs on zoomer retards*

Disney cartoons are completely soulless

The Last Jedi was great, because it tried to do something different, and it made things more interesting. The ones made by JJ Abrams were just about repeating stuff that came before and not taking chances with anything.

based

rian johnson fans are so insufferable

What did it do differently? Is there a single thematic, aesthetic, or plot element that isn't directly taken from another Star Wars film?

The idea that Rey didn't come from anything special. That her parents were nobodies. She wasn't part of any great destiny. She was just a random person.

except for the fact that in TROS she was actually related to uncircumcised cock himself, Palpatine.

>once again the ABSOLUTE CRITICAL THINKING AND PLANNING from the sequel trilogy strikes back...

That's Abrams walking back that decision because, again, he just repeated what came before becuase he didn't want to take chances with anything.

That piece of shit ruined star wars

either way, pretty much all these movies were a fucking trainwreck
you could argue that abrams just rehashed ideas from the OT, but even then TFA was at least somewhat decent, even if it was just ANH.
NOTHING can excuse TLJ tho... gave me bad prequel flashbacks.

I thought Knives Out was wonderful but I can say with 100% certainty that The Last Jedi was shit, Brick was fucking dumb, and that time travel movie he did was just okay.

>What did it do differently
it included self referential parody never done in a Star Wars movie, thinly veiled social commentary, it made promises that it was going to be completely different to anything that we had prior and then backed down on those promises and toed the line. Oh and feminism and hyperspace ramming.

It was a disaster that not only doesn't have a peer, it can't have a peer in how bad it failed. There will never be a series that went from the biggest media franchise of all time to a wannabe King of Comedy's bottom bitch in the span of just five years. When it failed, it failed harder than anything ever could.

Kylo Ren's lightsaber was neat.

So, Obi-Wan, or Yoda, or Mace Windu, or Palpatine. You know, all massively important, influential and renowned characters who, for all we know, grew out of the ground because we literally don't know if they have parents at all, let alone who they were.

There are literally no positives about these movies. They actively try to spit in the face of anybody that enjoyed the OT and they're obviously anti white male so anybody that likes these movies should kill themselves.

postive: reylo development up to the end of the second one
negative: absolute worst corporate dreck ever made

the only good thing about the ST was the upgraded storm trooper designs

>Critical
The writing is awful across all three movies.
>Positive
I like the effects work. Some of the sets and overall shots in The Rise of Skywalker are pretty good, too.

Rey is a worthless mary sue who does nothing but steal everything from Luke: his lightsaber, his story, his friends, his loved ones, his house, even his fucking name

Ian Mcdiarmid as the emperor, because the man is always a fucking class act

Attached: 1576559968093.jpg (1831x1030, 425.94K)

> The Last Jedi was great, because it tried to do something different
NO IT DID FUCKING NOT!
It repeated the ATAT sequence but poorly.
It copied the training subplot but the trainee didn't learn jack shit but cynical anti heroic bullshit.
Casino planet subplot was nothing but anti capitalism propaganda and faintly copying lando.
And between all that shit. We have the main plot which is nothing but a fucking SLOW MOTION slug crawl space battle chase that drags on and on and on and involves a hyper unlikable sjw piece of misandrist dyke shit in purple hair degrading one of our leads.

FUCK THAT MOVIE!!!

Kylo's arc was sorta cool, that's it. The rest is garbage.

There's nothing positive to say. NuWars is trash from start to finish.

If Kylo was the main character and Rey didn't exist, that alone would improve the "story" by miles
At least Adam Driver can somewhat act when he isn't screaming like an autist

Attached: 1515980094085.jpg (2048x1367, 354K)

it sucked but it showed everyone why George Lucas was important to Star Wars success.

The Last Jedi has basically no redeeming qualities and retroactively makes The Force Awakens worse. At the time it was generally regarded as a pretty good opening to the new trilogy. Also the light speed ram shit is just something I’ll never get over no matter how some retardrd tlj fan tries to explain it away.

Positive I guess would be the effects. Kylo was a good bad guy but he constantly jobbed hard to Rey so even that turned into a negative.

>you got bested by a girl who had never held a lightsaber
Pointing it out doesn’t make it ok you fuckin fag rian

The first and third one were trash. The second one was alright.

>All of it

>7 was fun, 9 is hilarious, and based Finn/Boyega

Adam Driver was the Ewan McGregor of the ST. Was pretty much the only actor/character that was the most liked (or least hated) of their respectable trilogies.

pretty sure you got it flipped there pal

FPBP

She is such a cute when she keeps her mouth shut

>At the time it was generally regarded as a pretty good opening to the new trilogy.
I don't know about that. A lot of the people that dislike the sequels the most disliked TFA right off the bat. I know I did. And enough people on Yas Forums did for "glib facsimile" to become a mild meme.

something positive is the phrase ‘subverting expectations’ is now just code for ‘its shit’

"you aint gonna disney+ me"
god status, a honorary second place to Hamill for shitting on the sequel trilogy

Force Awakens is much worse than you remember and Rise of Skywalker might very well be the worst numbered movie in the entire series.

i could never get over her FUCKING VOICE, ever since TFA that accent just bothered me

Terrible abomination, makes Lucas look like he was the good guy all along
Adam Driver was alright

You can't think this
it is not possible
TROS is easily the worst of the three and that is saying someting considering the trainwreck that TLJ was

I think TROS is the best of the sequel trilogy, but admittedly my reasons are more or less superficial. The writing is about on par with the other two, if not even worse for how stupid the Emperor/Rey Palpatine shit is.

i second this, watched TFA recently and i thought it was ok, even if it was just doing the same. action was kinda cool tho.

Its shit
Its over

The trilogy as a whole was horribly planned and tarnished the reputation of a beloved franchise.

Kylo Ren was great.

I know box office numbers don’t mean everything and I’ll even give you that SOME sequels make less than the originals although in today’s market of blockbuster franchises a la the mcu that seems less common, but $2B to $1.3B to $1B is absolutely atrocious

>hurr durr billion dollars not enough

shut the fuck up

> I think TROS is the best of the sequel trilogy, but admittedly my reasons are more or less superficial

I think it has more flaws then TLJ but TLJ's are more offensive.

And I genuinely think TROS is the most fun of the new trilogy. Rey, Finn & Poe getting to actually spend time together & play off each other was nice.

Palpatine was damn good here, none of the more silly campy moments from ROTS. Just menace.

Maybe don't make a sequel trilogy about the chosen one's family lineage if you don't want to focus on the chosen one?

TLJ is basically bilbo handing the ring to frodo and then the audience saying how they're tired of hobbits, and how brave the director was for setting up that it was the son of sauron disguised as a hobbit all along.

Because palpatine was totally planned from the beginning, right? Which means Ryan was setting up being the grandchild of palps the whole movie?

There isn’t a single time where Rey fails. Not a one. Three movies and she never fails, has that mistake stick and learn/grow from it. She almost kills chewy and that’s about it. But even then it’s nah.

Visually it’s pretty cool albeit the designs on most of the aliens and spacecraft aren’t creative in the slightest

TFA is better than TROS to me but to be fair I have only seen TROS in camrip form so far

> The Last Jedi has basically no redeeming qualities
- The scene of Kylo begging Rey to stay with him was emotionally effective.
- The false duel between Kylo & Luke was a good scene despite its false nature.
- Snoke was well voiced and charismatic
- Hamill gave a good performance regardless if you dislike what was written for him.
- BDelToro had a few good moments.
- The battle between Kylo, Rey & the Royale guards was cool in concept, style & visuals (sadly the fight choreography was notably lacking)

>And I genuinely think TROS is the most fun of the new trilogy. Rey, Finn & Poe getting to actually spend time together & play off each other was nice.
That's part of it. The movie has more momentum because of the characters being together and being able to interact. Even shit like the snake, for example, felt pretty Star Wars-y to me even if the snake's design itself was meh and the Force-healing stuff is awful. The movie is just more satisfying as an overall adventure than the other two. Palpatine's jar of pickled Snokes and his creepy lair, the set that consisted of the Death Star wreckage in the ocean, etc. all hit notes that helped maintain some constant visual interest. The writing is awful, and it's a terrible conclusion to a story that didn't need sequels (or prequels) to begin with, but as far as basic spectacle goes it's the strongest of the trilogy and I think spectacle is the only thing the sequels have going for them.
