>You don’t see anything wrong with not being there for your child?
Doing nothing at all is better for Shinji. Gendo was a shit person and close contact with Shinji would have only done more damage.
chuck did nothin wrong
also fuck off weeb
>a Gendo who made time to be a better father by being around for Shinji would be exactly the same in every other aspect.
Come on son.
He was a SIMP. I mean, he worked for decades for the NWO just to be able to smell some dead pussy again.
>He was a SIMP. I mean, he worked for decades for the NWO just to be able to smell some dead pussy again.

this seemed kind of wrong and mean just for the sake of being mean, wtf why did gendo do this?
Is he fucking dead? Where is he? What's he doing? Does he have a cute girlfriend? I-is he ever coming back?
He just killed everyone. But he had his reasons. He's just misunderstood.
Last news were about him being in Google in some failed project. He is probably working for free now.
Gendo didn't have time to be a father. he was a busy man
Because he's a massive piece of shit who is contemptuous of everyone.

Looks like you're the one who didn't understand shit. Gendo didn't give a fuck about gundams until Yuri turned into one. Then he put in all his effort into becoming a simp
>There's a reason he's the only one who doesn't end up in the orange drink
He does end up in the orange drink. Did you watch episode 25/26?
His reason for wanting instrumentality was selfish and the worst of the 3.

Wrong. The dead sea scrolls predicted the third impact. Gendo and Yui both shared the goal of using Unit 01 as an arc to save humanity from the third impact. Yui deviated from their plan a bit by sacrificing herself to become the soul of Unit 01. By doing this Gendo shifted his plans a bit. his goal was to bring instrumentality under his control, save humanity by using Unit 01 and an arc, but carving out a section for him and Yui to be together.
>His reason for wanting instrumentality was selfish and the worst of the 3.
Wrong. see above
>Based retard
You are too dumb to see that he clearly was in instrumentality. him being "rejected" via eaten by Unit 01 was a manifestation of his guilt for negelcting Shinji. But he did ultimately end up in instrumentality together with everyone else. how else would you explain episode 26 then?
>how else would you explain episode 26 then?
EoE and the series ending are not in the same continuity.

>EoE and the series ending are not in the same continuity.
Wrong. It's the same event depicted in different ways.

Nope. They are both alternate depictions of how instrumentality might happen. They share commonalities (both Misato and Ritsuko are dead, Asuka is at the bottom of the lake) but the experience that Shinji goes through in episode 25/26 is markedly different from that of the movie - they are not compatible tonally or narratively with one another.

Wrong, they both depict the exact same conclusion with Shinji rejecting instrumentality, it's just depicted in two completely separate ways
It's ambiguous whether or not Shinji even rejects instrumentality in the tv series. He may maintain his individuality but there are several clues that he might be still in the drink.
> it's just depicted in two completely separate ways
The fact the events of both are so starkly different from one is highly suggestive that they are not taking place at the same time. At what specific point does Shinji's "I can love myself" epiphany even take place in EoE? Tv series Shinji and movie Shinji have two totally different reasons for breaking free of instrumentality. The two endings sit so awkwardly with each other that they render one another nonsensical when taken in tandem.
>It's ambiguous whether or not Shinji even rejects instrumentality in the tv series
No it's not
Yeah it is.

Well, remember he also was banging that doctor woman, before he tricked her to kill herself so that he could use her brains in the computers that ran nerve, then he was also banging her daughter Ritsuko so he could manipulate her. However, his true love was his dead wife which he brought back as a clone, but also a weapon/device for godhood. However, for some reason he thought it would be a good idea to stick his clone wife with his son while both are teenagers and it never crossed his mind that there might be some attraction between the two, either that was a misstep or he is just a sick freak who got off on it.
>this seemed kind of wrong and mean just for the sake of being mean, wtf why did gendo do this?
Well biological brain parts to be used in super computers have to come from SOMEONE. Kills a few birds with one stone, he gets to break up with someone without any emotional fallout AND he gets parts for super computers.
>still, he did this lady dirty
>
>then he goes and fucks her daughter and ends up killing her too, damn gendos fucking evil
To be fair, the daughter was pretty evil herself.
>he was a busy man
yeah between gawking at rei and looking menacing he just didn't have the time to father his only child
