Does this count as an anime and should I watch it?

Idk, seems pretty western to me. Looking for new stuff to enjoy during the tyranny of corona-chan, but I refuse to become a jap worshipping weeb.

Friends (who are openly weeb) are pressuring me to watch it with them.

dont watch it, its trash and the fandom is ugly.

yea

Pretty sure it was created by Americans. I don't think it counts as anime, but it's fine.

It's a cartoon, I don't know what you are expecting or who made you so insecure about watching media but The Last Airbender is quite good, really neat worldbuilding.

It counts as worthless trash

watch the originals, its kino
save yourself the kora crap imo, i saw a couple clips on youtube and the writing/voice acting is actually unbearable

i hate anime and thought it was okay. the first season is utter trash though.

Look from what I've read the original series is kino, specially S2&3, S1 seems kinda like meh but then it takes off rly good.

A FUCKING WHORE

I rewatched a bunch of scenes on yt. It's much more childish and clunky than I remembered it. Doesn't really hold up but would recommend to my future children.

Season 1 is somewhat charming but also really good at times. Season 2 and 3 are consistently great.
I highly recommend watching it. Saying this as someone who doesn't watch anime btw

I watched it recently enough and it is great
Becomes absolute kino season 2

its only good for incest

Azula is great. I wish she had a male counterpart who wasn't her fucking brother.

I wonder who's behind this

faggot

holy based

It's not an anime, but it's incredibly based for a kids show

Korra should have been her spinoff show instead.
what kind of man would you have to be to meet azula's lofty standards? thats what makes the incest so appealing.

Pirate the amazon HD webrips off piratebay, its hand-painted style holds up amazingly and reminds me of older hand-drawn anime

It's better than any anime series ever made and much less cringy. Weebs will get mad, but don't care.

what a kino moment

Watch it, it's not anime.
Do NOT watch Korra though, it's Rey Skywalker levels of tainting the franchise, especially when the comics decides to go and retcon characters one-by-one as lesbian

Why did Azula become so popular years later?

If everyone is lesbian then how will the Airbender race carry on?

airbenders just magically/randomly reappear in the gene pool, because thats how genocides work

she's hot and has a based voice actress

When you're a kid you hate her for being bad. When you grow up, you pick up on how hot her voice and mannerisms are

JUST

I'm rewatching it myself right now because of the lockdown.
It's good. Especially the first time through.
It's not anime, but it's definitely inspired by anime. I can't think of another western cartoon similar to it.

watch it, it's great. do not watch the sequel who shall not be named

imagine letting the japanese live rent free in your head so much that you have to check with your internet buddies if something is japanese before you watch it

>tfw no Villain Trainer

i hate most anime but love avatar
dont watch legend of korra, or read any of the comics, only watch Avatar The Last Airbender

its easier to appreciate the genius of her character on rewatches.

avatar is great

kora is pretty good. i agree it is some lib rey skywalker shit but s3 of kora is fucking based

>tfw gave up on Korra about halfway through S2

>kora is pretty good.

as a standalone show it's ....fine. just fine. as a part of the avatar universe it should never have been made. atla is retroactively worse because of it.

weab

God bless Bessy and those tits

>does this count as anime?
The style barely even looks like anime.
>should I watch it?
Do what you want
>seems pretty western to me
That's crazy, it's almost like it was made in California or something.
>I refuse to become a jap worshipping weeb
Dont worry everything asian about this show is entirely superficial. That's why it's so comical when people whine about whitewashed casting for it.

this and mortal kombat remind me that chinese culture told with heavy western influence is a wonderful thing and should be done more.

everything is better with heavy western influence

>Dont worry everything asian about this show is entirely superficial
this it's just for the aesthetics and martial arts

most of the characters can easily be read as white if people are being honest about it

not really, you just see white as the default human, granted most people do.

i said they can be read as white not that everyone does read them as white. and they definitely can. a little kid who saw the show could think everyone in the cast except 2 people are whites and not think anything about it.

While I was playing WoW after dinner at mother’s house once, I heard my sister watching the new show Avatar: The Last Airbender on the television. I decided to check it out. I soon found myself really enjoying it. It was a magnificent story set in a fantasy world where people can control the power of the elements. Once I watched the first episode, I was hooked on the story. Prince Zuko was my favorite character; he was a banished prince who was trying to regain his rightful place in the world. I always related to him. Avatar: The Last Airbender became my favorite T.V. show.
