If STD and Picard were never made and you were put in charge of outlining the newest trek, what kind of series would be made? A purely episodic affair like TOS/TNG going against the grain of contemporary TV, something more like DS9 or an entirely arc based show like the two recent ones? When would you have it set? Which series (plural or singular) would be your model and how much would you diverge from it?

Is it worth getting into STO? Some trek stories would be cool, but only if I don't have to deal with hours of shitty gameplay to get it. Even hours of decent gameplay would put me off as I don't really enjoy games anymore, least of all MMOs.

I got to the top rank in a week, but there are difficulty spikes. Still enjoyable as a pseudo-sequel to 90s Trek. Some even considered it quasi-canon. Of course, PIC changes things, though STO is still set a decade after PIC.

An over arcing plot. But, more in the background. Only ~1/4 of the season really about that plot specifically. The main plot arc would be far lower stakes than 'save the galaxy from destruction' type. Lots of episodic, stand-alone episodes. Monster of the week, good sci-fi stories. Mix up the genre, some episodes will be horror, comedy, drama, etc. Without the melodrama of everyone either crying or yelling. Season long character arcs, show don't tell relationship building and dynamics.

I think the writers tried to imply that the space mushroom cloned him based on the DNA that Stamets carried with him or some weird shit like that. It makes no sense, the guy should have stayed dead, it was interesting to see Stamets move on with his life.
