I think they filmed natives killing a monkey but again, just butchering an animal that any PETA video will show on YouTube. The movie is blown out of proportion by normies.

Apparently the turtle scene made the actor that did the deed cry, honestly I don't think sacrificing animals just to make a cannibal movie realistic was wise since they actually did get charged for animal cruelty, some say it may have been the very reason why media has "No animals were harmed in the making of this film" note.

I've watched some fucked up movies, but they all came off as trying too hard. Hereditary honestly disturbed me the most because it exponentially amped up how fucked up and hopeless it was and never felt like it was trying too hard (except maybe when the mom cuts her own head off)
