I watched the whole damn fucking series waiting for it to become not shit. I mean, Clone Wars was also a faggy cartoon for children but Filoni definitely made it fun to watch regardless. Every once in a while I would see something interesting in Rebels and was cucked into finishing it. At least I pirated it, so I don’t feel too bad about wasting my life on it.

Sorry for the rant, I’m just mad at how disappointing that show turned out to be, especially since Clone Wars was such a fun guilty pleasure

To me rebels instantly red flagged as a lame children-only cartoon just based on how bad the protag characterization and VAs were, same as shit like that dragon prince thing that people were infatuated with for a little while. The differences in tone and level of quality between clone wars and rebels is instantly noticeable to me.

Sure, but the nu-sequels are about as far from the tone and style of starwars as you can get, so solo seems closer only by association. Taken by itself though, it feels like someone made a mid 2000s flashy heist film with star wars wallpaper. That's not necessarily going to be an instant failure, but it's pretty far from the pastiche of 50-70s era western/samurai/war films that make the OT what it is and it's pretty clear that howard and the lego movie guys didn't have the directing chops to make it work.

An okay movie severely hindered by flat uninteresting protagonists. I didn't like it much initially but I can at least now appreciate that it isn't one of the sequel trilogy movies.

Decent fun, but the casting just didn't fit and there were a lot of eye rolling moments. Reminds me a lot of the prequels, but unlike the prequels it doesn't have an interesting story hidden behind its mistakes. At the very least its the only Disney movie that seems to be okay with having a sufficient amount of aliens and robots.

Mandalorian is the best thing Disney has produced and I'm amazed at how bad the newest season of Clone Wars has been.

Yeah, I guess I should have just specified Han. I think Ehrenreich did fine acting as a hero character, but there was never a moment where I felt like he was Han Solo.

Solo was awful.

The only thing I can remember is that it was one of those lazy "WE NEED TO GET TO THE NEXT SCENE RIGHT AWAY" movies where the writers try to make the audience invested in the movie by telling us that there's urgency, but we don't actually see any of the urgency so it's just the actors running down hallways for 90 minutes screaming about how they need to get to the next scene right away.

Yes, it did. The only plot up until that point was that Han needed to make enough money to return and rescue her, then she shows up on her own like 30 minutes into the movie and tells him she never needed his help. It's shit tier subversive storytelling that never provided any reason to care about the plot after that point.
