It's really hard to do a follow-up to Predator. The original has a perfect narrative arc, no extra bullshit, just tells the story and gets out.

it had to be edited down from nc-17 and it's sort of noticeable but city hunter is confirmed to be a rookie at the end. i just wonder what all the other guys on the ship were doing? maybe hunting more skillfully and under the radar and not running around being a psycho

This one's obvious. I know people didn't like the first one (I liked it), but you can't argue the fact that this is objectively bad. Even ignoring the boring teenager subplots, you literally can't see the action. It doesn't make sense, since the scenes in the trailers are clear.

My favorite part was how they completely ruined the Enclave. They went from being a super-serious, no-nonsense faction with a logical goal; Killing 99.999998% of life on the planet earth, to a dumb silly stupid faction that just wanted to make clean water when, if you think about it, all the water should be clean and all the radiation should be gone. Really, they had no reason to even want anything.

Predator 2 is great. The only reason its not as good as the first is because Predator is a perfect movie.

avp1 is pretty underrated
it has lots of cool actors with unique faces that should be in an aliens movie like ewan bremner, tommy flannagan, raoul bova etc.
and of course lance henriksons blessing
the ripley knockoff wasnt terrible either

AvP 1 really fucks up the predator costume though.

maybe it's having seen predators and the predator that makes me forgive avp for its comparably small fuckups in that regard more easily

I though that the predators wore heavier armour on avp1 to account for the cold weather as they are used to hot climates

They looked too boxy and textured incorrectly, plus the last ones eyes were human eyes.

Yeah I do admit those were pretty human eyes but no a predators look the same they all look different

I never really liked part 2. It had some amusing moments but went too far into cartoony territory. I felt like I was watching the Muppet Show.

This is a genuine contender for the worst film I've seen in my life.
I started watching it at 3am with a friend of mine who fell asleep straight away, I stayde up til 5 watching the entire film because I was genuinely mesmerised by how bad it was /blog

The only thing wrong with predator 2 is that its a sequel to a perfect movie. Its robocop 2 syndrome.

The first one would be almost impossible to top. Second one opened really strong with the murphy's wife sub plot, but then it just went of the rails. Still entertaining but nowhere near the impact of the first one. Even if they ruined Millers original script, it just wasn't up to par if the comic adaptation of said script is anything to go off of.

Predator 2 and Predators are good. Granted, they're "just good", but still good. I think people kept expecting or wanting another 10/10 perfect action movie like the first film which just isn't gonna happen. That shit was lightning in a bottle.

The newest one was absolute shite, however. Probably even worse than the AVP movies.
